I'd be amazed if this doesn't get rave reviews.

Critics are obsessed with the musicality of rap albums more than anything else, which is why Kanye's shit always gets 55/10 despite always being very mediocre conceptually...

This is Em's dark twisted fantasy. It feels like theater, it feels big and epic.

Critics are more obsessed with the craft & the concept of an album tbh.

Killer Mike, Kendrick, Nas, Ab-Soul all got +80 or +90 on metacritic with their albums.

people think kanye got 94/100 with mbdtf because of the hooks and the musicality of his album but Kendrick got 91/100 with gkmc and the album ain't musical at all, Earl got +80/100 on metacritic and his voice is monotone as fuck

Em never gets the critics props initially. Shit.....his classics never scored above 80, but yet a re routinely brought up as hip hop classics by heads or critics.

I would expect this will score in the 70's though, which to be is good. Hell the Sequel scored 72, and I thought HTS was dope. But this is better.

You can always add about 10-15 on his metacritic scores to get what should have been the score, with the exception of Encore. They got that one right.

Very nice reviews so far. I'm curious about Pitchfork's :coffee:

Great that the album is receiving love and praise :flutter:
