Official MMLP2 DELUXE REVIEW THAT'S NOT STUPID

Postby VintageSlimBish » Oct 31st, '13, 23:48

After reading all of your idiotic reviews.
Here's a review from a kid who grew up with slim, and reviews him as a person, and takes the album as for what it is; a meaningful story that needed to be told, to end his legacy.

1. Bad Guy.
It's true. Stan took his life, and left his little brother all alone. I'd be angry too, if me and my brother had a hero, and that same hero is the very reason my brother died. Eminem clearly realizes, the influence he has had on peoples lifes, and I know for a fact, there are some families that have crumbled because of him. Obviously his vocals have changed, and I can't say whether or not I'd even be a Eminem fan, if this is how he came out in the first place. But considering we have watched him grow, I will leave his vocals out of the equation for the rest of the rating scale for this whole album.

My Rating:9.5/10

I would give it a 10, but I think you will all notice that there are more to be said, that he cannot because of his label. Alot of his lyrics clearly have fillers now, because he would get in trouble.
But I still respect the fact that this album gets, as close as it can to hitting us with the truth as he could.

2. Rhyme Or Reason
Great production, flow, and lyrics. A lot of the songs in here, remind me of the beatles. Especially the hook, and feel of this song. I like Bad guy More tho.

Rating:9/10

3. So Much Better
I actually like this song a lot. The flo, message, the hook. Everything is perfect. This reminds me a lot like A Eminem show Bonus song.

Rating:9.5/10

4.Survival( NOT RATING)

5.Legacy
Def, one of my favorite songs from the album. A lot of people complain, that the production of the album is amateur, and something people from youtube would make.
Uhh.
K.
Anyways. I find this song a classic, and this album is beginning to really shape up to be like a movie for me.
This album has seperated 8 MILE and EMINEM from me completely.
I no longer see 8 Mile as EMINEMS LIFE. because it wasn't. It never was.
Eminem was a child with a little brother, and a mother who he loved very much.
Through poverty, the family became estranged, much like me and many other EMINEM FANS.
And I know exactly how it feels to be angry and say things I don't mean, about people I love.
Eminem is clearly as twisted as I am, and I feel bad for those who can't understand him.
To Em: Thank you for this song. I understand you.

My Rating:10/10

6. Asshole
This song def needed a few listens. Not my favorite, especially putting it after Legacy. I'd put this in the trash bin, alongside with Survival. Really not needed on the album. And Skylar could do way better, I listened to her album. This hook could have been killer with a different beat, and a more slow paced verse much like legacy.

My Rating:6/10

7. Berzerk NOT RATING

8. Rap God
When this song came out, I played it over a hundred times. He is amazing, and his flo is awesome. But it makes me sad that he has to keep doing all these bars, and rhymes to prove to people he's the best. I rather have a deep, em, that tells stories, and not multi syllable, or methophoric lines just to keep proving that he's better than the young cats out there.
Regardless, I love this song, but this song isn't fit for this album either.

My rating:8/10

9. Brainless
This song really reminds me of his D12 days, and it would have been amazing to have had them on it. Really not down with the whole SHADY 2.0 crew, and I'm glad they are not included on this album. Anyways, this is def a song that maintains the albums premise, and this is as close as he gets to VINTAGE SLIM, imo the whole album.

My Rating:9.5/10

10. Stronger Than I was
I read somewhere that someone said this is better than Hailies song.
It's not. not even close.
But this song touches my heart too.
This comes from the point of view of 40 year old em, that is alone, and has the money and the fame, but has realized that his childhood actually had a very deep meaning to him. Much more than anything money or fame could get.
This song is very personal, and I thank Eminem for sharing it with us. I wouldn't be surprised, if this is the type of song he puts in the vault, and hides to death.
It's vulnerable, and sweet.

My Rating:9.5/10

11. The Monster
Okay, the first time I heard this. I admit, I got a little pissed off.
But after a few listens, and now that I've heard the album, I like it alot.
I mean sure, it's more recovery type than anything, but the fact that the rest of the album
isn't like this, I can appreciate this more. I think the fact that we all thought the whole
album would be like this scared us the most. It's not a bad song.

My Rating:8.5

12. So Far
Yeah, def reminds me of across the universe now. Somewhere along this movie, Em found some mushrooms, and we are now doing lots of drugs, and dancing on grass, under a rainbow.
This song is just weird.

my rating:3/10

13. Love Game
LMFAO DIDN'T I JUST HEAR THIS SONG?
Now I know Em's fucking with us. That just knocked up So Far to a 6/10 just because of this right here.
Anyways, this song was weird too. But fuck it. :b:

My Rating:
SO FAR AND LOVE GAME TOGETHER:7/10

14. Headlights
A lot of us know what it's like to fight with our parents. I always knew Em loved his mom. My mom hates Eminem, and I would tell her that he's just like me.. we say things out of anger. There's no way they don't love each other. And I was right. I always knew Eminem would make this song... and I'm glad he finally did. It means a lot to me.
Thank you.

My Rating:10/10

15. Evil Twin
This is not the best way he has ever ended an album. But it's better than what he's done since Encore!!!
Awesome

My Rating:7.5/10

Deluxe
1. Baby
Sick ass flo, and awesome. Would gladly replace this with Survival :y: Thank you em.
This reminds me of THE EMINEM SHOW EM SO MUCH
FUCK this is the closest he has gone to that old school flo.
Wheres obie trice?

My rating:9/10

2. Desperation
This is one of those songs that you don't realize you have on repeat until after the hundreth listen.
Nothing really important to pay attention too, but the vibe is relaxing, and I can play some GTA5 with this in the back :o

my Rating:8/10

3. Groundhog Day
Fuck. Why is this not on the standard tracklist? :(
I would replace the shit out of Berzerk with this :y:

My rating: 9/10

4. Beautiful PAIN
Fuck this is a great song. His deluxe addition is really really good. I would happily replace this with Asshole.

My Rating:9/10

5.Wicked Ways
This is a cool way to end the deluxe version, and love the KEN SKIT. LOL

My Rating: 9/10

What? What's wrong with So Far???? Pure Eminem.

I think people are hatin on Love Game cuz they had certain expectations for what the Em/Kendrick collab would be but the song is fun as fuck. Give it a few more spins.

I had to create an account just to respond to this.

Your review is stupid.

I can't believe you rated Love Game 3/10, that song is perfect. Just because it wasn't what you expected, you expected a hardcore Detroit meets Compton slugfest. But, the song talks Marshall's and Kendrick's experiences in relation to their 'love' they've experienced. That song is one of the most lyrical songs on the album.

Asshole is another great song, the beat on that song is amazing. It talks about him reflecting on what his lyrics have caused in the youth he was speaking too. Skylars hook is a bit lack luster, but, it's not bad.

Evil Twin is the ultimate ending to this album. Marshall acknowledges that Slim Shady still exists and is still inside of him; that they're the same person. The lyrics in this song are exactly what he's come to be known of representing. In this song he says, 'Fuck top 5, bitch, I'm top 4 and that includes Biggie and Pac, whore and I got an evil twin, who do you think that 3rd and 4 the spots for?' That line is brilliant.

He ends the album saying, 'But all bullshit aside, I hit a stride, still Shady inside, hair every bit as dyed as it used to be when I first introuduced y'all to my skiddish side and blamed it on him when they tired to criticize, cause we are the same, bitch.' An amazing ending.

I have yet to see a good review of this album, but, those will come once the actual release comes.

Your review is very on the surface, listen to the songs more thoroughly.

But nonetheless, the album is awesome.
