I feel like critics understand em better then they did for his first few albums. Its nice to see critics praising talent and brilliance, even though they might not agree with certain things. Props for EW for saying yes this is a deel album with many layers but we stand by what we said about ems use of blah blah blah, mean they are not to totatally discrediting the whole album like they used.

I only care about their Review tbh. They know the most about hip hop. Anthony fantano is probably writing for pitchfork so I don't care.

EW's review was definitely positive. But it was more of a "I didn't want to like this album, but I can't deny it."

I see a 7.5, why do I see a 7.5?
And a 4/5? That shit is just not acceptable.
Give me perfect 10's or give me death.
....
Seriously though, 4/5? Bet the arseholes gave Yeezus 5/5.
Personally, MMLP 2 >>> Yeezus and equal to MBTDF.

The Rolling Stone review was awful. The score is acceptable, but the reviewer clearly only scratched the surface of what Eminem was trying to achieve. It is easy to view the album as a lyrical parade and thus score it similarly to the MMLP, but it is so much more than this.

Kind of like how the SPIN reviewer literally says:

"The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is almost completely devoid of actual content or actual emotion"

It's sad when critics look at Yeezus and basically see shit that isn't there, and then they're gonna come and look at MMLP2 and NOT see shit that IS there.

Post of the fucking century.

Just goes to show how fucking stupid critics in general have become. Media is dumbed down to the point that even journalists are fucking idiots without trying to be. It's quite pathetic.

I predict an 8 or higher from Pitchfork.
Most of the reviews I've read so far have been unsatisfying though, save the Vice one which was spot on.
....
Perfect 10 or gimme death.

^ It may sound like blasphemy but even compared to the original, MMLP 2 still shines.
I was about to start on my 50th listen like 5 mins ago but I couldn't get past Bad Guy because all the 4/5 reviews honestly disturb me.
Like, wtf does a guy have to do to get a perfect score around here?
The only album I have on my phone even close to touching MMLP 2 in the sheer musical brilliance of it is prolly MBTDF, and I've got everything from Random Access Memories to Purple Rain to House of Balloons.

The NME review didn't seem too bad. I think it'll be positive.

I feel the same, everytime I start to listen to the album again, I can't get past Bad guy. I keep on replaying the song from the part where Matthew borrows the Stan flow.
