The next Eminem?

Postby therapist » Nov 1st, '13, 19:53

Now before people get too carried away and angry just listen for a second.

People are saying K-dot is the next Eminem. I don't think so.

While he may be the best doing it on a large scale right now... he still has a lot farther to go to get to Em's level. I'm still waiting for the next artist to come out and push the envelop as far as Em did. But to be honest, I can't ever see that happening.

What would the next level of hip-hop be to you guys? Hypothetically. To push it as far ahead of where it is now as The Eminem Show did way back in the day? Can we even conceive? Will it EVER be pushed farther?

Could the universe handle something like that without unraveling?

Thoughts?

Agreed. I don't think anyone in this new generation of hip-hop is going to reach the hights em did back in the old days, and with this new album.

Even recovery is miles ahead of everything else.

Kendrick fills the glass up all the way, no doubt he's doing it better than anyone else other than em. But em is a fire hose.

Back then hip hop wasn't as big. Em basically made it really big and introduced it to the suburbans. That alone will never be topped by Kendrick. But if Kendricks next album is as good as GKMC or even better he will cement himself as the next big thing and that would mean that he alrady has 3 criticly acclaimed albums wich would be really big.

He still hasn't broken barriers like Em :\. Don't get me wrong, GKMC is incredible...but didn't break through anything. He just killed tracks to an insane level, 10/10... em created an entirely new measurement system that doesn't stop short of infinity.

Well, I do believe he will be the next GOAT when Em retires. If he can make another classic then yeah he definitely will be as praised as Em is.

Kendrick Lamar is special in a different lane.. He is the incarnation of the new-school great MCs..
This is what we can expect to see of people influenced by Eminem, Jay-Z and Nas. Just like those three were influenced by the heads that came before them.

Kendrick is more comparable to a mixture of Pac & Nas to me, obviously with his own pizazz/uniqueness
