Seriously??? Just about any credible list has Eminem in the Top 10 and some Top 5.

You really think Jay is greater than Eminem???

You can't say anyone is better than Eminem. A few greats come close; Nas, Rakim, KRS-One, but they're 10/10 in their own rights. I can see Nas surpassing a lot of greats in record sales when he dies. I think the industry hasn't stopped sleeping on him since '94

Can Eminem do that with mmlp2 ? his fans might enjoy the album but it doesn't mean that mmlp2 will be celebrated in hip hop like sslp, tes and mmlp

Nas is still hold in higher regard than Em, can't see mmlp2 being more praised than Life Is Good

You're talking about Life Is Good like it's a classic, homie it's not. It's a good album, but Good Kid Maad City is a better album, that one will/is going to be considered a classic. MMLP2 is every bit as good as LIG, that album had 1-2 songs that were whack too man.

MMLP2 is like Ems Stillmatic, a great sequel and follow up to the original but not a classic obviously. Oh and Em still has 1 more classic than Nas. Just saying....

Top 5 bullshit is all debatable in context anyways.. Out of all of them who is the best RAPPER.. As rapper Eminem dominates that list.. but in regard to overall.. he has every right to be argued into the Top 5.. ESPECIALLY if this poser ass is gonna throw Jay in there with Pac then act like he is a hip-hop head.. fucking ridiculous TBH

@therapist .. you're tripping too if you think people don't think Nas has felling off hard with several of his albums.. Sales? The white boy dominates. I am not trying to go in on you but it just isn't happening from a realistic stand point. Nas is a great MC

I think the Top 5 are so interchangeable given the person.

But for me no order.....

Eminem
Rakim
Nas
KRS-One
2Pac

No one touching those Top 5.

The next tier 6-10 looks like this to me, again no order
Kool G Rap
Jay Z
Biggie
Black Thought
Big L

I don't give a fuck if Kanye supposedly has 2 classics in College Dropout and MBDTW....That guy is not an ATG emcee and is the most overrated rapper out of guys who gets praise on every album.

It just depends on what context.. if we're considering EVERYTHING Jay is one of the GOATs.. my list?

Em
Jay
Nas
Scarface
Biggie

**lol I put big twice
But I am different so.. YOLO as they'd say

Kanye is a Mozart. Mozart didn't try to rap though. Smart.

Quality over quantity and when we talk about bars, Em shits on Jay's existence.

Yeah arguing who the greatest rapper is like arguing who the best Athlete is. There are so many different sports (styles and techniques).

Bar for bar, lyric for lyric, no one touches Eminem. That's just a sad sad fact.

Bar for bar Eminem is on a different plane of existence to be honest.. There are other maybe better lyricists in a way.. but Eminem is the whole package when it comes to bar for bar. :y:

Kanye is dope as fuck.. but he is an artist and in no way makes a great rapper's list.. he's a dope ass artist and I'll never sleep on him.

Kanye is a GREAT producer, hands down. He changed the game production wise, but his production makes him look a lot greater. It's like an average looking woman who puts a shit ton of makeup on to hide her flaws.

Kanye is shit.

At rapping. But even I can admit, as a Stan, that Kanye has more production potential than Dre. He's no Rubin though. Kanye makes FIRE ass beats.

Kanye used to actually be a dope MC (still not top 5 of course.....) before 808's.

I can't shit on him.. he has some dope rapper in him.. but he's not made for the argument against Eminem or any other complete package rapper.

As much as I hate him, Lil Wayne was on the path to becoming the next big hip hop star. He really kind of ruined his legacy though by doing drugs cuz now his music is pathetically bad. He reminds me of 2006 drugged up Em, but he's way worse than Eminem on his worse day.

Some of Wayne's old stuff (and I mean OLD stuff) was fire as hell. His punchlines were incredible. I still love that weezy line

"paper chasin tell that paper look I'm right behind ya, BITCH REAL Gs MOVE IN SILENCE LIKE LASAGNA"

(not old, but dope)
