Kanye used to actually be a dope MC (still not top 5 of course.....) before 808's.

I can't shit on him.. he has some dope rapper in him.. but he's not made for the argument against Eminem or any other complete package rapper.

Some of Wayne's old stuff (and I mean OLD stuff) was fire as hell. His punchlines were incredible. I still love that weezy line

"paper chasin tell that paper look I'm right behind ya, BITCH REAL Gs MOVE IN SILENCE LIKE LASAGNA"

This ^

his lyrics are so fucking shit

"by the way you should fuckin quit, nigga"

And Em is like the fine ass woman who came on the scene and blew everyone away. It was undeniable.

But from time to time, she's had a bad day here or there where she didn't try that hard, but she's still gorgeous haha

And Jay is like the fine ass pornstar who is fucking fine, but tends to get a little overrated in certain aspects, than got pregnant and has looked less than stellar for awhile now.

I think hip-hop heads just get caught up in the fact that Jay is everything that hip-hop is in a stereotypical way.. He is a dope rapper.. but I mean even he said he doesn't put out shit at the level he knows he could.. to me that's lazy.

My personal opinion Dre's production > Kanye's. Kanye does have some innovative beats, but Dre just brings that fire.

Does no good if the only time I'm going to get to hear Detox is from my grave. :(

There's no denying though that Dre's production in the 90's and early 2000's was almost untouchable. He still can make dope beats. I wish Em used him more these days. :(

So because you may or may not get to hear Detox, Kanye's all of a sudden a better producer?

Nah man, I just personally think kanye's beats are more intricate and musical. It's all opinion. Not saying you shouldn't like Dre more :). I love Dre, I think he does what he does 9999/10, but he did kind of stay confined in that G-Funk style, that's why he got so good at it. Kanye makes symphonies and obeys no rules and stays within no parameters

Anyways.....Eminem is undeniably a GOAT. Definitely Top 10, or Top 5 depending on who you ask.

I love this discussion. Y'all keep it up lol.

As for Kendrick, this may just be me personally, but I hope he can start coming up with some really dope hooks of his own. I love when a rapper that is lyrically great also has a great sense of melody and just knows what sounds good, like Em. Kendrick really showed me a different side of him, melodically, in Love Game.

He's got a decent enough singing voice to come up with some real dope hooks. As far as his lyricism, his bars are always going to be on point, he comes up with all sorts of different voices and flows, he's a beast.

I'm a fan of Overly Dedicated, Section 80 & GKMC and expect Kendrick to be at a high level for a long time. :y:
