MMLP x MMLP2, in my opinion

Postby Raul » Nov 2nd, '13, 16:41

Kill You < Bad Guy
Stan > Rhyme or Reason
Who Knew > So Much Better
The Way I Am > Survival
TRSS < Legacy
Remember Me > Asshole
I’m Back > Berzerk
Marshall Mathers > Rap God
Drug Ballad > Brainless
Amityville < Stronger than I Was
BPII > The Monster
Kim > So Far
Under the Influence < Love Game
Criminal > Headlights
The Kids < Evil Twin

I eliminated the skits, obviously, and added The Kids in order to make the 2 albums have 15 songs.

MMLP - 10 points
MMLP2 - 5 points

comparing songs by numerical order rather than similarity is a strange choice
TES > MMLP > MMLP2 > SSLP > Rec = Rel > Enc

MMLP2 is nowhere near as good as the original in terms of consistent quality, or artistically.

Do you think it's better than Relapse or at least as good?
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

It's tough to really compare some of these, mostly because they're two different types of songs. One song might be brilliant lyrically, while an another might be lyrical too but musically and message wise might be brilliant. Like comparing Stronger Than I Was and Amityville, it's real tough to compare the two since they're two totally different songs, in all phases.

lol EASILY.

It's gonna be odd seeing people on TRshady putting a modern Em album over Relapse, if it does happen.

The songs honestly don't match up though...and Brainless is far better than Drug Ballad.

I dont think you can just the line the album up like that and say which is better. There are different songs that are better than others, out of order, you cant go song by song lining the albums up next to eachother in order. you have to evaluate how good the songs are, then judge it as a whole, how high are the highs how low are the lows. Criminal might be better than headlights but You could say headlights is better than a bunch of other songs on the album.
I hope Im making sense here.
" Life can change your directions, even when you ain't planned it
All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.

simplest way i can put this is i can still listen to MMLP today and it sounds great

MMLP2 is very good right now but i'm not sure i will be listening to it in 2026

recovery has already aged horribly to me and that was only 2010
