Do you think it's better than Relapse or at least as good?

I dunno man... that's a tough question right now.

Initially I was entranced with the musical ride of MMLP2, as i listened... it just felt like a musical adventure and I was consistently surprised by the musical ingenuity, and quality.

Lyrically and conceptually I was impressed off the bat but not blown away... I just enjoyed everything I heard, and I think MMLP2 appreciation may swing both ways and that the album's standing may improve with time.

With Relapse... I was totally in love and addicted right away...

I don't know. I'm finna let the dust settle on MMLP2 a while longer before I try pit it against it.

I don't even have to think of it.

I'd even put it above SSLP, but that's probably just me

Not sure about that one tbh

Who knows, my opinion might change but I doubt it.

MMLP2>Relapse
MMLP2~MMLP

Bad Guy> Stan
Brainless> Marshall Mathers
Headlights> Kim
Evil Twin=Criminal
Rhyme or Reason<Who Knew
So Much Better<Kill You
Berzerk<TRSS
So Far<I'm Back (close- I can't definitively decide)
Love Game<Drug Ballad
Survival= Under the Influence
Asshole= Bitch Please II
Legacy< The Way I Am (both great songs)
Rap God> Amityville
Stronger Than I Was> Remember Me(not a great comparison)
The Monster<Kids

The MMLP edges out its successor by 2 songs, which shows that it's more consistent. However, IMO they're nearly equal because if So Far> I'm back, they're tied. Also IMO MMLP2 has more top ten Em songs than MMLP.

Edit: With Bonus songs replacing the duds on MMLP2. MMLP2> MMLP. Though it's not a fair comparison...

Anyways, Cheers to a classic Em album :b:

And make the best of this situation, I guess

Every song on MMLP shits on every song on MMLP2.

Kill You is much better than Bad Guy. Bad Guy's first two verses disqualify it immediately.

His voice/delivery on Remember Me and UTI is better than his voice on any MMLP2 songs. The only argument you really have is from a writing standpoint.

Amityville, though? No way. 10 syllable multis in the first verse, and a vocal performance in the second verse which is untouchable. That's the kind of magic Eminem is talking about on Bad Guy when he says he managed to trap lightning in a bottle.

If you evaluate an album, you do it as a whole.
Em is specifically great at arranging songs and giving an album an atmosphere and a story.
You can't compare songs in numerical order like that, it's like taking a poet's lines out of context and comparing them.
There's a flow to an album just like there's a flow to a song.
Because, I forgot the chorus
But that's okay cause y'all saying bust a rhyme for us
