about the "so far" beat

I just heard the entire sample on that new steve jobs movie so I went to check it. rubin didn't do shit to it except give the drums a little bit more presence. like seriously.... you call that a producer?

love the song btw, I just don't call that producing.

and ow, he mixed the guitar way to loud in the song

Actually, it's totally different... Rhyme or Reason is a much closer replica of Time of the Season by the Zombie's than So Far... is of Joe Walsh... and then there's Mockingbird... and even more identical rendition of an even older song of much higher popularity...

I think Rubin's getting a lot more credit than he deserves for his work on MMLP2. Personally I think he's more of a classic rock kind of guy and that's not really what we all listen to Eminem too. Sure, he's pretty good for rock type stuff but I'd rather have Dre and Em work on the beats and provide us with some amazing modern hip hop beats!

Except Rubin is considered the grandfather of hip-hop... he helped popularize it throughout the world and without a doubt the most influential producer alive.

it's actually pretty much the same. not sure if you listened to the whole original song but he used everything. even that last part where em is storytelling about doing groceries.

he may be the grandfather of hiphop and helped popularized it... but that doesn't take away that he is a lazy producer that takes entire songs and samples them and acts like he is the creative mastermind. or at least, here they act like he's the creative mastermind. this view could not be more flawed and should be discredited.

Well that's awkward... I know this might be slightly OT but can anyone please explain to me why he has his beard so grown out? It makes him look like a homeless person (no offense to any of you who may be homeless).

Ah yessir, I forgot about Quincy... equally epic production. They both make dre sound like he's playing with a Fischer Price keyboard.
