Two out of the thirteen songs were group cuts, where he didn't have the best verse on EITHER of them, and essentially had ZERO cohesive subject matter on those two songs.
Five out of the thirteen songs were featuring other rappers besides Kanye.
The only thing impressive about the album imo, is the production, where Kanye is phenomenal as usual. The songs all sound great, but it fails as a rap album to me because he fails to deliver anything impressive lyrically which should be the staple of a rap album. He's NOT a technically great rapper imo, I don't think him as a rapper judging of skill should be in the same conversation as Em and Kendrick. He does make great music which I thoroughly appreciate, I have over 100 Kanye songs and listen to him all the time, I just don't get when people act like he has one of the most perfect discographies of all time. I just don't feel like he brings it as a RAPPER, he may bring it as a musician but then he belongs in a different conversation because Em and Kendrick are pure rappers.
MMLP2 and GKMC are too hard to compare in my opinion, and I think it's too early. I prefer MMLP2 as of now, but that's only because I like Em's sound way too much to pick GKMC over it.
Oh and GKMC is NOT better than SSLP. Not even close Kendrick can make a better album than one of Em's top three, I just don't think it's GKMC.

There is nothing monumental about Eminem touching topics he has been his entire career. "Legacy", "Rhyme or Reason", "So Far", "Survival", "So Much Better", "Brainless", "Asshole"...all rehashed topics he has been using only from different perspectives and a lot more bar splitting that fucks up the flow.
A monumental album would be filled with songs that Eminem has not done before. Topics that he has not yet explored.
GKMC is a monumental album because...well, this is the only time we'll be hearing an album like this from Kendrick. He wanted to share his life story and give us an idea of who he is, by creating this cinematic album.
You are all experiencing the hype of MMLP 2 now, but just give it a few months and you will all be back to your normal selves.
If you have not listened to GKMC thoroughly, then why even bother posting in this thread?

The only thing mmlp has going for it is its production
