I know it's a very good album.

Great is deemed for classics, IMO.

SSLP is GREAT. MMLP is GREAT. TES is GREAT.

Enc is average/decent. Rel is solid. Rec is solid.

MMLP2 is very good.

Thank you for the thought-provoking post. Unfortunately nobody on here wants to take the time or effort to read it. Honestly, I think you have very solid and interesting points but I don't think people are willing to challenge their own points of view.

It seems like everyone on here wants to change the opinions of others, but does not want to consider their own opinions. Therefore, unfortunately, people won't want to consider your points, which I think explain a lot (in terms of the 'untouchable' status of SSLP).

Thanks for taking the time to write a very interesting post. Far more compelling than reading people write, "no man you're stupid... my opinion is better than yours" etc.

And thank you for this!

You're my new internet friend.

So uh... wanna download some oldschool P2P programs and share a bunch of "Aqua" music or something?

It'll be a while before I can say for sure, but I feel like MMLP2 edges out SSLP. I think MMLP2 is an amazing achievement for Em. He aptly described the prime of his career as catching lightning in a bottle in Bad Guy. While that in itself is amazing, it's even more amazing, to me, to create that spark when everyone is saying you're career is winding down, that you've lost your touch, that you've sold out. A lot of these tracks move me emotionally in a way that music never has. I feel like many of thse singles, this album will grow on people even more.

Also, even if you don't think MMLP2 is better, does that automatically disqualify it from being a classic as well? Like SSLP is just BARELY makes the cut of being a classic?

A poll was posted in this thread and then in the body of the thread the topic concerning the views of the members in regards to which album is superior when considering SSLP and MMLP2 was typed out by the person on the top of page one... who is also the person that decided to add a poll.

When a user clicks on this thread out of interest (how the fuck could you not get this)... do you really have the audacity to word your question in such a way in which it implies the comparison is laughable due to the severe gap in perceived quality between the albums when placed in contrast to one another as if you're in a position to suggest that ANYTHING is laughable when all of the facts work as a brush from a metaphorical standpoint to paint a pretty retarded, sad and pathetic picture of whoever the wang behind your username is?

A guy that doesn't understand the concept of the corresponding existence of two "things" and the very basic ability that human beings posses often from a time in life in which speech hasn't even been developed yet allowing us to prefer ONE of those two things in contrast to the other one... is... being critical of someone else for someone because their workings of their mind resulted in a comparison.

Yeah buddy, generating ideas involving comparisons between two things is setting the bar pretty low for human functioning. Not being capable of understanding how two things can exist and be perceived by humans as different and of higher value to an individual is much more impressive.

I give it to MMLP2 only because there are no songs on this album that I skip everytime. There are a few on SSLP that I don't like and never listen to.

No fucking way. I haven't heard MMLP2 yet but I have heard 2 awful singles and one decent single, whereas SSLP has no weak tracks, no bubblegum pop shit. SSLP is as pure and real as it will ever get, that's why the first 3 can't be beat. Songs like Rock Bottom and If I Had contain REAL emotion and desperation, not a "revisitation" to it, so no SSLP and MMLP will never be topped. The amount of meaning in the songs in unparalleled.

SSLP without a doubt. Role Model > Evil Twin.
TRShady's neighbourhood Spiderman!

Catches thieves- just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Spiderman.
