NME: Eminem & Hip-Hop - We Shouldn't Accept Misogyny In 2013

Here's how I've always viewed Hip-Hop.

Hip-Hop isn't women bashing. Hip-Hop isn't racist. Hip-Hop isn't homophobic. Hip-Hop hates on everything and everyone.

I mean Eminem could write a song about killing a man, no one cares. He writes it about a gay man or a woman, he's homophobic and a misogyny.

Hip-Hop disses women as much as they diss men, as much as they diss gays, so on and so forth.

The only people I haven't seen Hip-Hop diss is little kids.

But still you need to recognize Hip-Hop has hated on everyone. It's a competition. You're going to hate everyone to win.

Does that make sense or do I just sound really fucked up?

But here are some of the more questionable lyrics Em uses on the album. From ‘Love Game’: “Snatch the bitch out her car through the window, she screamin’ / I body slam her onto the cement, until the concrete gave and created a sinkhole / Bury this stink ho in it, then paid to have the street re-paved."

On ‘So Much Better’ he calls women "fucking pigs” that are only good for “doink doink doink” recalling that old misogynist Nietzsche who famously wrote “everything about woman has a single solution: that is, pregnancy”.

Here’s another gem: “I got 99 problems and the bitch ain't one / She's all 99 of them I need a machine gun / I take ‘em all out I hope you hear this song / And go into a cardiac arrest, have a heart attack / And just drop dead and I'mma throw a fucking party after this”.

Just in case you skimmed over that, Eminem is saying he wants to kill a woman he particularly despises with a machine gun. He wants the woman to go into cardiac arrest – I don’t think he means dance so hard she’ll need a defibrillator - and then he’s going to throw a party.

That's correct. There are special groups dedicated to ending violence against women, but nobody gives a flying fuck about violence towards men. This is because women are innocent, benevolent little flowers, while men are dirty dogs/pigs (animals...but only a figurative sense, because violence against animals is almost as serious as violence against women...but not quite) who deserve it. Be a man, dude. Man up, brah. A man's gotta learn to DEFEND HIMSELF and handle hiz biz in a FIGHT, yo. But a man hitting a woman, that's the lowest scum of the earth, brah, that's a coward move, dude.

Women are typically grouped together with children. "Protect the wimmin and childwen." X City was bombed, and 55,000 people died, including WOMEN and CHILDWEN. NOOOooooooooo. Those bastards, killing WOMEN and CHILDWEN!

And funny enough, nobody even cares about the 4-year-old little boy layin dead with a slit throat in Kim's living room. They only care about Kim getting her throat slit in real time. Nobody cares about the new husband and step-sons corpses in 97 Bonnie and Clyde, whom Eminem just dismisses as "2 more things out the trunk." Ahhhh, they're all male, they can handle dying.

Nobody cares that Eminem sprayed Dr. Dre's brains all over the place in Criminal. I'm actually surprised there weren't more complaints about him offing the poor, female teller when he was robbing the bank, however. She has 2 kids at home, for crying out loud. NOOOOOOoooo.

When Eminem dissed Mariah, it made him a misogynist. How dare he insult a woman. Women are not to be hit, and they are not to be insulted. What do you think they are...men?

Fuck no.

Relapse (you know, the album where he eats women, wears thir skin as a suit, drinks his cousina blood, rapes Britney Spears at the same time as he is impaling himself with an elephant tusk etc) slid under the radar with no effort.

Recovery was loved and praised. (You know, the album where he burns down a house which Rihanna is in, tied to the bed, ties Elton John to a flagpole, bashes gays in general and of course kills people, and women...)
