Em should seriously work with them again.

They're the ones who truly gave him his unique musical feel, not Dre.

Agreed with what everyone is saying here. A Bass - Eminem song in this day and age could be absolute money.

It's unbelievable to think without the 17 year old kid hearing him and doing such a simple little thing, he may have been a poor man living a pretty shitty life for the rest of his life. Instead, he's made millions upon millions and risen to insane fame.

In between Infinite [Eminem's official, independently released first album] and The Slim Shady EP, we figured out how to communicate with him. Because he doesn’t come from a musical background. We had to figure out a way emotionally to get through to him. So how I approached it is, any song that had a happy feel we’d call a happy tune. Angry, sad, violent — we’d use adjectives to get through to him. So that he could write the type of lyrics that’d go with the track.

When I read this I lol'd. They make him sound like a retard haha.

He needs to work with these guys again, I'm glad that he makes it sound possible!

It would have made sense for him to work with them on MMLP2...

They could have come up with a new sound but had that MMLP-esque raw foundation...

If he works with them after this... it'll feel like 'ahh, why was THIS not MMLP2?, kinda odd.

Dre definitely mentored him a bit and gave him some help.. but the Bass Brothers defined him honestly..

I wonder why they fell out.. I know the Bass Brothers weren't getting paid what they should of in royalties.

If these guys got back together. It would blow everyone out of the water. I guess Em doesn't want to go back because it reminds him too much of the 'old times'.

Does anyone know of any other rappers they have worked with? Would be cool to check it out.

"Marshall, I mean, the truth of the matter is we're not ... I still love him and everything and I'm sure he still loves me ... but we don't communicate like we used to. He told me he had to experiment with other writers, other producers. It was very fair. All artists probably do that. We could only have our vision of what he should be. Life happened. Life just moves on. It's not like he said, "Jump! You’re fired." It was just, "I'm gonna go in a different direction." "

This is the saddest fucking thing ever. Who was the faggot between relapse and Recovery that told em to change up his producers. I wanna sock that cunt in the mouth >:(

Bass and Dre all the way

Its sounds like eminem did a "its not you, its me sorta thing" :(

The crazy thing is, I remember thinking post-Encore that I wanted Em to branch away from the Aftermath/Shady camp. Use producers like Just Blaze etc. and collab with other rappers in the game outside Shady.

Now - I prefer the old Em. I would like an album produced by the Bass brothers and Dre - but I'm just searching for a replica of the SSLP and you can't re-capture that sound 15 years on. As sad as it is - I think the era has passed.

Yeah this was me back in the day. But he waited too long until the biggest names in the game were drake and wayne :(

Oh am I the only one who thinks his new producers are the ones who pushed him to include the pop features on recovery? (everyone fricking brings up dido at this point, but he found the vocals on a remixed track and picked them through that, PLUS she wasnt a super-star so it was clearly skills over sales).

He never really ventured far out of his camp before when it came to features (rappers let along pop-stars), and the rappers these guys usually work with use these tactics to drive sales. Then im guessing after the massive success of LTWYL he's grown to love featuring pop-stars so now its a part of "him". :L

I don't mind some of the new producers he's worked with.

M-Phazes, Emile, Cardiak, Rick Rubin, Sid Roams, and Havoc have all done good shit with him. If he continues with these, that's cool.

I would love to see some Alchemist, No ID, Premier on that next album.
