Bad Guy is one of the best songs after Eminem Show imo.

I said making a continuation for Stan would be a bad idea because honestly I didn't thought Em could pull that off. But he did it and it might actually be better than Stan. I think it's too soon to say that special since Stan is such a classic, but I feel like Bad Guy is lyrically better and it's more entertaining to listen to :y:

And I do feel like Em is a member in TR because he knew we all thought making Stan Pt.2 was such a bad idea and he wanted to prove us wrong. AND because he made Headlight with the guy of FUN. Just saying :coffee:

Naw, it's the 4th or 5th best song on the album, IMO

I'll take Headlights, Legacy, and Brainless over this. And Evil Twin is about just as good.

In most sequel aspects of this album though....Em delivered worthy sequels. Bad Guy is a really really good song, not a classic track, but really good. MMLP2 is a very good album, not a classic album, but a good one.

Better writing is immediately an advantage Stan has. I love Bad Guy, concept is fucking dope as hell. But the writing isn't close IMO. I'd also chose Stan's beat; set the tone and atmosphere of the song perfectly.

I agree for the most part... but the last 2 minutes of Bad Guy trump, lyrically, just about anything else he's done in my honest opinion.

"I'm your time that's almost up that you haven't acknowledged. Grab for some water but I'm that pill that's too jagged to swallow."

But you can't count that part of the song considering that's Eminem going out of character and reflecting on his career. He never did that on "Stan", he stuck with the story throughout. So, you would have to compare the first part of "Bad Guy" - up until Em says "now say you hate homos again" - and the entire "Stan".

Stan wins easily, dontcha think?

Trilla here's how I see it......

Stan is a classic song. Bad Guy is a worthy follow up, a very good song, but not a classic song.

MMLP is a classic album, one of the best ever. MMLP2 is a worthy follow up, a very good album, no classic though

The parts of Bad Guy before the epic last verse = Stan. I have already given reasons why I think so.

"in "Bad Guy", Em initially is describing
things happening as Matthew as
apposed to organic thought setting
the scenes as in "Stan" and "Kim"...
this is a much more pedestrian style
which is what most rappers do...
Because of that, it can never be more
amazing than "Stan".
...
I disagree.
You aren't giving Em/Bad Guy enough credit, Matthew's description up until "chloroform rag" serves to provide dimension to the character.
Almost enough to build a realistic character profile, of course there are other narrative styles that would have done the job more elegantly but not on a 6 minute track.
Stan Mitchell, rather contrary to what everybody raves about was bland. He only serves to potray a descent into psychosis.
Matthew has personality, he is overly dramatic (as evidenced by the first verse; "left me so burnt", "drive off in the sunset") he has a sense of theatre "waiting for this moment all of my life" and "9 hours and 45 minutes now" and "I sneak vengefully" "I peaked"
And is every bit as obsessed and in love as Stan.
.....
From "chloroform rag" it just balloons into sheer psychopathic genius.

The only things that bother me about the song is the "I peaked" and "toilets clogging" lines.

All you guys saying that Bad Guy is a classic are right. But i'd just like to say this, every Eminem album will be remembered as a classic in 5 to 10 years (for me already) and IMO MMLP2 will be remembered as his most heart-felt, effort, and personal album of all time, (Of course i havent heard his future albums, just saying as of now).
