MMLP2 doesn't touch Relapse.

It's easily better than Encore and Recovery though.

To me at least, it's not even close. I can listen to MMLP2 and then listen to Relapse, and I can hear at least that it's MMLP2 all the way.

The thing I find funny is the Relapse fans that overrate the fuck out of it here.....they talk shit about Underground, Beautiful, Old Time's Sake, Crack A Bottle, We Made You, and then most everyone hates Bagpipes too unless you're really overrating it. That's 6 out of 15 tracks right there. The only songs you can do that with on MMLP2 are really Berzerk, Survival, The Monster. The rest are either good, great, or really good and every single bonus song is at least good or solid.

Relapse is 5.5/10. MMLP2 is 8.5/10.

Sorry Marshall, but there's only so much shit that can be on an "ah-bahm" til it starts to "maugh-taugh". Insane, Bagpipes, We Made You, Medicine Ball, Old Time's Sake, Must Be the Ganja's first & second verse, Beautiful, Crack a Bottle, & Underground suck dick. That's 9 out of 16 songs that are godawful. And 3 A.M & Stay Wide Awake are only good for their beats, rhyming, and flows, the lyrics range from bland to nothing special to shit. My Mom, Hello, Same Song & Dance, & Deja Vu are the only above 7 tracks on the album.

MMLP2 has 3 bad tracks, Survival, STIW, & The Monster.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Relapse has imagery, which makes it an instant classic just like Shakespeare.

Relapse could've been a masterpiece if they went another route. No, not if they made the sequel. No, not if they switched some refill tracks for bad ones. No, not if they deleted the bad tracks all together and made no refill. It would've been a masterpiece if it was an 8 song EP, and promoted to be an EP, not an album. Something like this
3 AM
My Mom
Insane
Same Song & Dance
Stay Wide Awake
Deja Vu
Music Box
Underground

Eminem on MMLP2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Eminem on Relapse

Now, if we're talking about as albums...maybe or maybe not but I wanna say MMLP2 is superior.

Fuck, fuck, fuck! Can't take the stress
I make a mess as the day progresses
Angry and take it out on the neighbors hedges like this is how I'll cut
Your face up bitches with these hedge trimming scissors with razor edges
Imagination's dangerous, it's the only way to escape this mess
And make the best of this situation, I guess

This.

Now, it's easily better than Encore and Recovery, I think every rational person can agree. My problem with Relapse is mostly the accent. I just cant get passed it. Yeah, this album might have the strongest cohesion in the matter of concept, but what good does that do if I cant stand his pronounciation of almost every word? Hello is unlistenable for me. Im not sayin it didnt work for every song. SWA and 3 AM still remain badass.

While MMLP2 doesn't really have that cohesion throughout, in the terms of storytelling, its songs kinda have the same feeling, same vibe. Which was the case with MMLP. At first it seemed like bunch of incoherent songs where Eminem rants about shit, but after you absorb this vibe, you can see what he wanted to accomplish here. Same with MMLP2.

I think that some people dont realize the artist's intention behind the project. If they try to make a concept album, and they fail, you can talk shit about it. Em didnt go down that road, he played the vibe card, at least from what I hear.

My list:

MMLP
SSLP=MMLP2
Recovery=Relapse
Encore

It's not even the accent for me because I don't mind it. It's just MMLP2 is so much more "Eminem" than Relapse is if we're being honest here...it's the best he's been since 2002.

This. And the fact that when everyone praises it, they mention the bonus tracks and refill and ignore the duds.Relapse is so overrated here, It's not bad, but MMLP2 shits on it and it's not even close to me. To me..
