I thought the album's main theme was 'Marshall Mathers' feels and points of view in the year of 2013, mirroring the ones he had in 2000'.

Kill You, I agree with everything you can say since I subscribed :flutter:
No, it's hopeless, I'm the denial that you're hopelessly in. When they say all of this is approaching its end. But you refuse to believe that it's over, here we go all over again.

That's ALWAYS what he does any way! Lmao.

Eminem ALWAYS updates you on his views about everything with every album... so how does that make it MMLP2!? You have a mom track, a bitch track, a shit talking track etc. etc.

It's Eminem as always.

Why do you keep saying 'it's his views in 2013' as if that's unique or isn't what he would be doing even if it didn't have that title lmao.

It's a re visitation of the same themes as MMLP. He tries to do, lyrically, what he did on MMLP1. Get reactions. MMLP1 was his views on the world in 2000 and his take on them. MMLP2 is the same thing for 2013. You can clearly hear it in the music itself.

He didn't really do that on Relapse and Recovery. He was kind of in his own worlds. On MMLP2 he steps outside and doesn't like what he sees.

All I know is Em is rapping with a confidence and assurance in his tone that hasn't been there since 2002. Add that to the fact he delivered 18 out 21 great, really good, good, or solid tracks, this DEFINITELY his best album since Eminem Show.

Yes. I understand.

What I am saying is: Eminem does that on every album ANY WAY.

So how is that unique to MMLP2?

You got "Asshole"... and "Rap God", but for the most part it's Em as usual. Not really a revisitation to those themes at all. Just the odd mention to loosely stick the title to it.

If only he'd taken The Monster and Survival off completely, put Berzerk on the bonus, and added Baby, Groundhog Day, Beautiful Pain to the main album.....EmBase and every other Relapse fan who overrates that album would have NOTHING to complain about.

He didn't give his views of the world, really, on Relapse or Recovery. As I added to my post he was sort of in his own little world for those albums. On MMLP2 he seems to have stepped outside.

Which is the symbolism of the abandoned house on the cover. It's in his past, he's buried it on this album.

Well first of all I wouldn't take off "Berzerk".

That song is the essential lead and fits the album very well. And is a great track.

Also, I WOULD have something to complain about - because it's the fact the album does not have a unified feel or sound. It's a random collection of great-excellent songs.

It's not the songs, individually, or any of the music I have a problem with. It's the total piecemeal approach leading to a mixtape structure of 'a bit of everything' with no overall... anything.

And on the deluxe version, the door door symbolizes him driving away from the house and leaving it behind. That's what I think.

i agree, and also its a cool addition anyways.

its the end of the MMLP era, like he says in bad guy i think, not the end of his career

So you talk about songs not sounding completely like all the other ones, I think there is a general sound to the album, but he also keeps it fresh with different types of songs, flows, and the overall diversity in what he's doing. To have an album that's cohesive, if doesn't have to have exact same fucking sound one very fucking song.

Shiiiiiiit. Relapse had Crack A Bottle and Beautiful (which is far better you guys give credit for), which sound absolutely nothing like the rest of the album.
