Doing this because some people pm'd me and wanted my opinion. Trust me this is the last time I'll be visiting the Eminem section.
Bad Guy - 7/10 solely off the concept. Beat sucks. Delivery is irritating. Not sure why the flow is so unnatural. Can't figure out if he's rapping poorly on purpose or not
Rhyme or Reason- 5/10 Hook is actually awesome. I like the beat. Most of the song was just a waste of words. Nothing was accomplished. Delivery and flow were horrendous again. And say whatever you want about oh but he's revisiting his life, well idc listening to a 40 year old bitch about their dad is lame. Also he could have talked about his dad in a much better and more mature way (Little Man) but I guess Slug has spoiled me.
So Much Better- 2/10 This song literally does nothing for me. Most stale subject matter ever. He has daughters who are practically adults now. There's no way he still hates women this much and if he does he needs to grow up.
Survival- 4/10 Already gave a long review of this song
Legacy- 5/10 Would have been better if the bridge was just the hook. I can't stand upbeat pop hooks like this. "So I’m non-compliant at home" is everything that's wrong with the song. Some of the rhyming at the end of the third verse is really good though
Asshole- 4/10 Eminem is really good at using a lot of words to say nothing. Skylar Grey sucks
Berzerk- 2/10 I've already talked about this song
Rap God- 7/10 Some genius parts and some terrible parts. More of the latter unfortunately
Brainless- 5/10 Glad he made a less creative and less funny Brain Damage. This song is plagued by the same terrible delivery and flow problems as the rest of the album
Stronger Than I Was- 1/10 oh god who let him release this song.
The Monster- 1/10 The 1 point is for Rihanna's hook. The verses are horrendous
So Far- 3/10 I don't even know what to say about these songs anymore. They all suffer from the same shit. Eminem is just repeating the same shit over and over without really saying anything. Delivery and flows are extremely irritating. I couldn't even finish this song.
Love Game- 4/10 Hey guys let's get the hottest and best rapper in the game and put him on an upbeat 80's pop love song aka the polar opposite of what he excels at.
Headlights- 5/10 Too spoiled by Eyedea and Slug to be impressed by these shitty lyrics. Just because it's emotional doesn't mean it's good. Nate Ruess was the best part of the track.
Evil Twin- 5/10 I'm just so tired of this terrible style it's unbearable and I'm practically forcing myself to still listen at this point.
I just can't listen to anymore right now. I'll listen to the bonus tracks later I guess. I agree with pitchfork 4/10
