MMLP2 Easter Eggs

Postby PAINKILLƎR » Nov 14th, '13, 08:21

Post the Easter eggs you find while listening to MMLP2.

chauvinist pig drove in this big Lincoln
-Desperados

Slim, chauvinist pig drove in this big Lincoln town car
-Bad Guy

Matthew recites an Em lyric from way back, goes to show how big of a fan Matthew was too.

Whew Em blessing us with Easter eggs. Post what you find!

In So Far he references I'm Back and The Real Slim Shady.

He even uses their beats. XD

"Six minutes, Slim Shady you're on" on Rap God

The way the parking lot skit fades into Rhyme Or Reason, with the police radio in the background of the intro.

There are a lot of them. I know only those that are obvious lol. I think the second verse of Brainless is some kind of an easter egg, when he started to rhyme "orange".

Em shoots the puppy in Parking Lot, which takes place immediately after the robbery depicted in Criminal.

THIS ^

Also, I thought it was way cool how at the end of Bad Guy, as it fades out, you hear him saying "Here goes a wild stab in the dark - as we pick up where the last Mathers LP left off...."

then immediately goes into the parking lot skit which is a direct continuation of the last verse from the last song on MMLP... criminal. It's like Bad Guy is a prelude to the album then it really starts with Em's "I'm back, time to hate me again" song "rhyme or reason"

The one in the OP goes even further.

"Slim, chauvinist pig, drove in his big Lincoln town car, over the bridge" - Em in Desperados
"Slim, chauvinist pig, drove in his big Lincoln town car, well gotta go, almost at the bridge!" - Matt in Bad Guy

Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings

But in my head there’s a voice in the back and it hollas
After the track is demolished
I am your lack of a conscience

I’m your time that’s almost up that you haven’t acknowledged
Grab for some water but I’m that pill that’s too jagged to swallow

The way he started the second verse Of Evil Twin is some kind of a hint to what was his carreer all about back in the day.

Rhyme Or Reason: "The only message that I have to send, is dad, I'm back at it again (bitch)
(Who's your daddy)"

The last "who's your daddy" is from the intro to My Dad's Gone Crazy

In Rap God:
"Enough rhymes to maybe try to help get some people through tough times
But I gotta keep a few punchlines just in case cause even you unsigned
Rappers are hungry looking at me like it's lunchtime"

In the song 8 Mile:
"But yet I’m still unsigned, havin' a rough time
Sit on the porch with all my friends and kick dumb rhymes
Go to work and serve MCs in the lunchline
But when it comes crunch time, where do my punchlines go"

In Evil Twin, some lines in the first verse have similar rhyme scheme and opposite meaning of the song Sing for the Moment:
"And these kids are like parrots, they run around the house just like terrorists
Screamin', "fuck, shit, fuck"
Adult with a childish-like arrogance
Wild ever since the day I came out I was like "merits, fuck that"
I'd rather be loud and I like swearing"

In Sing for the Moment:
"These ideas are, nightmares to white parents
Whose worst fear is a child with dyed hair and who likes earrings
Like whatever they say has no bearing
It's so scary in a house that allows, no swearing"
"That's interesting to spit, who's king of this fucking English lit?
Let your middle fingers flip on each hand, whilst extending this shit" -Eminem on "Baby"

Lit-let-your = lit-letch-ur (literature)

Dope, that one slipped by me.
Heres my easter egg for the day I guess.

So Far
"Shady, what up?" What? Come on, man, I'm crapping
And you're asking me for my goddamn autograph on a napkin

And I'm thankful for every fan that I get
But I can't take a shit in the bathroom without someone standing by it

Matthew saying "I HOPE YOU HEAR IT" in "Bad Guy" mirrors Stan saying the same in "Stan".

On the real though, it took me way too long to figure out the Broncos hat thing. I knew Em signed a hat for Matthew, but it took me too long to figure out that the Broncos are from Denver, and that's where Stan and Em met in the original song.

I felt like a dumbass after.
