Horsebot3K wrote:But I thought rape was supposedly about power, not sex? What would an outfit have to do with anything?
In reality, rape is about power. The victim's attire seldom plays a role in the assault. However, the first question asked of any female rape victim is "what was she wearing?" Society loves to blame the victim, and the easiest way to do it is to call her a dumb slut who was totally asking for it because she chose to wear a miniskirt instead of, I don't fucking know, a chastity belt.
What even is the "wrong neighborhood?" Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you personally a racist, but phrases like that are often euphemisms for racism and classism. Bigots can no longer get away with referring to a predominately black community as "the place where all the [n-words] are," so the they refer to it as "the wrong neighborhood." I lived in a 90% black community for two years and I felt completely safe. It was the kind of place that might be ignorantly labeled "the wrong neighborhood," but not once did anyone there ever even hint at bothering my skinny white ass. I liked that neighborhood a whole lot more than the WASPy suburbia I'm in now. Even if a man does happen to be alone at night in a crime-ridden neighborhood, worst case scenario, he's getting mugged. While that's still awful, isn't exactly on the same level as rape.
Date rape and a victim having previously known her rapist are not the same thing. An acquaintance may date rape her and it is true that most women are raped by people they already know, but that isn't date rape unless she was drugged. Date rape is also not in any way, shape, or form, a less horrific thing than any other kind of rape. It's still rape. And by the mockery inherent in your "like, soooo amazinggg" comment, it appears you're also victim blaming. If a woman goes to a frat party, drinks a lot, and gets raped, it is no one's fault but the rapist. Rape is always, in every possible scenario, one hundred fucking percent the rapist's fault. Just so we're clear on that.

Jesus Christ. Prison rape is not the same fucking thing. What happens in a confined cell with one's cellmate is not the same as a woman getting pinned down and violated with some sick motherfucker's cock. We don't live in prison. Society is not prison. While I do agree that sometimes rape accusations are false (i.e. the Duke lacrosse scandal) and can ruin an innocent person's life, you've phrased your point in the dumbest way possible. What, are the cops just supposed to say "oh well, we didn't see him rape you, so it didn't happen?" You're also overlooking the fact that the extreme majority of rapes are not reported because the victim is too terrified to tell anyone. Yeah, some fucking privilege that is to have to fear repercussions for notifying the police that you were sexually assaulted.
So you're saying drunken douchebags deserve to be raped, then? What a barbaric thought. A woman (or a man, for that matter) should be able to get as hammered as they damn well please, so long as they don't try to drive or hurt anyone, without having to worry about being sexually assaulted. Unfortunately, women don't get that luxury.
I made a typo there. I meant to say "if she was drunk." And yes, that is frequently bought up in trials regarding rape cases. Society also tends to blame drunk women for their own sexual abuse. Clearly you missed all the vitriol aimed at the Steubenville victim saying she deserved it because she was drunk.
Oh, cool, thanks for overlooking the part of my post where I pointed that out as a real problem men face.
CNN openly expressed regret that the "promising" lives of the Steubenville rapists who were such great student athletes who "literally watched as they believed their lives fell apart." Boo hoo, cry me a goddamn motherfucking dicksucking river for the poor widdle footbaww pwayers who got the legal equivalent of a slap on the wrist for brutally raping an unconscious young girl and posted the video of her assault on the fucking internet. CNN, one of the world's biggest news outlets, blatantly sympathized with rapists. This is exactly what feminists mean when we use the term "rape culture." http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/03/18/cnn-feels-sorry-for-steubenville-rapists-world-can-t-believe-its-ears.html
Let me stop you right the fuck there. Men want women to be sexual objects.
Women are meant to be nothing but holes to be filled with dicks, and those same women are then called sluts, whores, skanks, etc. for having the aforementioned sex.
Society treats the loss of a man's virginity as something to be celebrated, while a woman's virginity is seen as this pure, sacred thing that should be kept as long as possible. When a man goes out and fucks everything on two legs, he's treated with respect by his peers and seen as an alpha male that all other men should aspire to be. When a woman even does something as benign as go on one too many dates, she's suddenly the biggest slutty skank bitch cunt whore on Whore Island. If that isn't a double standard, nothing is.
Watching porn and jerking off is "just something guys do" (and boy, am I ever guilty of it), but many women go their entire lives without having an orgasm because they never received any education about their sexuality. Society tells girls not to masturbate or explore their bodies and that sexual pleasure is not something they're meant to have. This is pervasive in our media. Three years ago, an excellent film called Blue Valentine was given an NC-17 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America for an inexplicit, non-nude scene depicting cunnilingus. Countless R-rated movies have included blowjob scenes, but the second Ryan Gosling goes down on Michelle Williams, it's some horrible thing that no one under 17 should ever be exposed to. Compare this to David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake, in which the titular character is raped in a very graphic manner in two different scenes, one of which contains female nudity. This received an R rating with no edits. I've got nothing against the film, at it is quite good and the victim's revenge is exceptionally satisfying, but the ratings inconsistency here is astonishing. Raping a woman is all well and good, but God forbid you show one experiencing sexual pleasure. For those who don't know, the MPAA ratings board is composed of conservative, middle-aged parents. The documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated is totally worth seeing if you'd like to know more. (Unfortunately, it was made a few years prior to Blue Valentine.)
A fetus is not a living being. It doesn't have rights because it doesn't have thoughts. It's a clump of fucking cells that could potentially become a person if left alone for nine months.
Think of all the potential babies that die from male masturbation every year. See how ridiculous this argument can get? If you think abortion is murder, every man on this board is a genocidal monster. Every time a condom is used during sex, that's another dead baby, right?
No man should have a say-so regarding women's reproductive rights. Ever. I repeat ... ever.
The fact that women even have to fight for the right to make decisions regarding their own bodies is completely insane to me. If men could get pregnant, abortion clinics would be as common as McDonald's restaurants.

Will a man ever be rescued first over the woman? No. Women lives have more value in society. That is the greatest privilege of all.

Says the feminist in the friendzone with every woman he knows. How ironic.
