Sid Roams Inspired MMLP2

Postby ujenetot » Nov 18th, '13, 21:43

1. Em said:

When I started recording this album, a lot of the songs that I would play for people, they were saying it reminded them of that era. Which was kinda what I was going for in the first place, but the fact that other people started taking notice made sense.

2. Recovery was fumbled, while on the tracklist of H:TS we had

01. Welcome 2 Hell (prod. Havoc)
02. Fastlane (prod. Supa Dups)
03. The Reunion (prod. Sid Roams)
04. Above the Law (prod. Mr. Porter)
05. I’m On Everything feat. Mike Epps (prod. Mr. Porter)
06. A Kiss (prod. Bangladesh)
07. Lighters feat. Bruno Mars (prod. Eminem, The SmeeZingtons & Battle Roy)
08. Take from Me (prod. Mr. Porter)
09. Loud Noises feat. Slaughterhouse (prod. Mr. Porter)
10. Living Proof (Bonus Track)
11. Echo (Bonus Track)

and for those who forgot - that's 10 heavy pieces of boring, uninspired rapping by two old grympy MC.
beside one tracks

THE REUNION

1. sampling Devil's Night (sampling his old records is something he is doing all over the MMLP2)

2. storytelling (this is the one and only storytelling track on H:TS - an album of punchline rhyming. and, you know, storytelling is something he is doing all over the MMLP2)

3. delievery

And if they're scanning for fan's opinnions they surely knows, that everybody loves the track

So here we have MMLP2, an album following the same concept

And actually "The Reunion" will - sonically and tematically - fit great on MMLP2. Instead of Survival, for example...

And, on MMLP2 we have that great closing track - Evil Twin (btw, Royce named Slim "Evil Twin" on Reunion), produced by the same guy and i still haven't heard complaining about it

Now that's my theory. And i truly believe somewhere out there are a bunch of tracks on simple, early-eminem-influenced beats by Sid, with early-eminem-influenced lyrics, that are truly great, and are only waiting to be discovered

I hope he works with him more in the future

what do you think?

yeah, if the Reunion was on MMLP2 instead of Survival or Stronger Than I was... man, that would have been beautiful!

He probably made The Reunion around the time of recording for MMLP2 because it would fit perfectly on MMLP2.

Isn't it crazy how The Reunion is pretty much the first song we had as insight for the new album?

The Reunion actually fits perfectly on MMLP2. Weird.

Ehhh maybe.

I couldn't disagree more about 10 tracks on HTS being uninspired boring rap.....c'mon son

Em and Royce went HAM on that whole EP. Only weak tracks IMO were Lighters and Take From Me, which easily could have been replaced by Echo and Living Proof on the bonus.

The Reunion is the most boring track on HTS besides "Lighters".

People just love it because of Em's vocal tone. Meh.

haha
yeah, ok, for sure it's just em's tone, not the shit in my first post, or the obvious facts that

1. first decent em chorus, without bitches singing emo stuff since relapse
2. the only em chorus on h:ts, ffs
3. track is better than the rest of the album, where he was just one trick pony, and he screamed at these hoess till he's HOARSE! :facepalm2

oh, and

on The Reunion he actually showed some love for Relapse, which is something nice for an artist to do with one of his most experimental albums, not trashing it in the name of the rihanna features and "Feed it beans"

Let's be honest, Eminem sounds best when he's working with concepts - even if it is just a story of him and Royce reuniting.

When he's just 'rapping to rap' on tracks, it gets awfully boring, most likely even for him.

But, when he finds an idea or topic that he enjoys, that's when his music sounds the best.

I honestly haven't seen anyone say "he" when referring to Sid Roams...unless I missed something. We know that Sid Roams is two people, at least most of us do lol.
