Help with a music assignment

For a paper in my Music History class, I need to find a modern song that has the words being the most important part of the song, and don't necessarily flow with the beat. In other words, it sounds like the words were created first, then the beat came later. The ones I have in mind right now are Role Model and Stan.

Uhm.. Soldier? Are you looking for a story telling track or what? I imagine lyrics written by Em are probably altered to match the flow/beat.

@trentimus No, it doesn't matter really what kind of content it has. I knew trying to find an Em song where the beat and lyrics don't really flow would be challenging.

Even his trash songs from Encore he does a pretty good job of staying relevant to the beat.
