i love the beat, it adds to the atmosphere of the track..
Did anyone for a while think when he said "i'm a product of rakim, lakim shabazz, tupac", think he said "i'm a product of rakim, rakim surpassed tupac"?.. coz i did for a while, haha. on a side note, i've never heard of lakim shabazz until rap god, and i listen to old school as well :facepalm :facepalm

Yeah I had no clue who Lakim Shabazz was TBH and I feel like I know a good amount..

I didn't know until I read the lyrics in those same bars he shouts out NWA/Ice Cube.. he just says that part in such a way I couldn't decypher how many names he actually said.

Of course it could have. Any sound in that beat could have been replaced by something else. I like it though. It sounds good to a lot of people. It doesn't need to be "replaced".

.. Obviously that was the point of bringing it up in the first place.. Clearly the producer wanted it that way, Eminem's camp accepted it that way.. and it was used..
Obviously nothing in music is required or needed.. I just personally think it ruined the beat. Like I said.. I bet the skeleton beat was retarded awesome, it was overproduced IMO.

Yeah I listened to it like 500 times before the album came out so I couldn't listen to it at first when the album came out. Now it's a never skip. Amazing song, his best single imo since Lose Yourself.

Fucccck.

Just listening again. It's SOOOOOOOO good. Especially that fucking 'GET SOME PEOPLE THROUGH TOUGH TIMES!' section... not only are the lines cool as fuck due to being self-analytical but in a kind of... detached and off-hand way (like mmlp1) but the fucking flow and rhymes for that section is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever heard in rap.

Fuckin love this song. After the album came out I skipped over it the first couple of times along with the other singles so I could get into the other songs but it still is amazing. One of his best songs since coming back and that third verse :flutter:

Agree with everything OP said.
Its a rap classic.
6min of pure fire.I also love the intro to the song,i was nervous the first time i pressed Play on this song but when that intro came on..something special was coming and EM went into total beast mode.
I love everything about it.
Cry babies, maybe my way that i use words is loose
but you turds better be careful how you choose yours
Cause feelings scar, but egos bruise worse
And the truth hurts, shit no wonder youre sore losers
