agree his prime shit isn't untouchable tho for sure
You like Yeezus and Magna Carter Holy Grail. You don't know shit about lyrics to be honest. Just telling it like it is.
You think Eminem on MMLP 2 is touching Eminem in his prime. You don't know shit about lyrics, either.
Yeah, there's some clever word/phrase association on the album, and he's still rapping 5+ syllable rhymes, but is MMLP shrouded in a choppy flow, awkward lines, and grade-school story-telling & concepts?
Get the fuck out, man. I've just about had it with your stannery.
OT: The one I noticed at first was one off of Groundhog Day, where he said "I lost my super powers cuz of supervision" or some shit like that. It was a play on him not having any supervision - his mother not being around - but then also having superpowers. Was kinda neat.

Technically.. like 2 songs on Yeezus are storytelling. They just aren't very intriguing..
Having storytelling and having GOOD storytelling are two different things. Saying it's "Braggadocio" is kinda contradicting your own argument though. You're taking the vein value of Yeezus and MCHG and generalizing it.. just like he is taking the value of the flow and what he feels is weak lyrics and generalizing MMLP2.
Other than that I agree with you. Lyrically Eminem on a technical level is going probably the hardest he's ever gone *consistently from track to track*. But, emotionally I don't get moved the same way I do with MMLP and TES. I still enjoy MMLP2 but I don't prefer this content and delivery. But, on a technical level he is above where he was on MMLP/TES. I just don't think the chemistry and magic are quite on that level.

Like, I could hear it was some kind of pun on Beyonce obviously but just realized it's 'beyond saying' @ Jay saying he's too big to mention names (or do I have that wrong? I know he says 'beyond saying', RG has a diff explanation for why he says that though).

Answer my question though, what storytelling merit do Yeezus and MCHG present? Huh? Not much.
