Beautiful Pain pains me beautifully.

Postby Eedee » Nov 21st, '13, 02:52

First off, I love this song. His singing bridge at the end of the 2nd verse is fucking classic GOAT brilliance shit etc.

What pains me is this "mother-freakin- deep end!" shit. No Em. Why'd you write that, spit that, finalize it and STILL think that was a good idea?

"You've extinguished this LIVING HELL" :'( Why do you gotta yell at me that I've extinguished this living hell? Say it normally, or actually, even better, a slight whisper would've worked beautifully. Y u do dis thing marshall pls

Song is dope. Tbh I don't even care about mother freakin deep end lol. It's a good song for sure, I sorta wish Rihanna was on this instead of The Monster and they put this on the album instead.

I catch myself rewinding back to that singing bridge part of the song all the time.
TrShady is just great. A place where pompousus blowhards can connect with other pompousus blowhards, and form a vast circle jerk of pomposity.

Me too. I love it. Honestly those two parts with the living hell and mother freakin deep end don't bother me either, they were probably unnecessary but I don't think it ruins the moment and it sort of adds to the emotion I think.

Probably play this song the most tbh. It plays well whether you listening, walking, talking to someone else or reading! Hook is, like Charlotte Mathers said, best Female hook. Her voice is really nice.

as the OP says, that mother-freaking-deep-end pause was really cringe worthy :shakehead:

and also that FINALIGHHH FINAALIGHHHH FINALIGHHHHH thing :facepalm2

But i still love it though.... 9/10! :worship:

The line about putting his foot through the ceiling is worse than either of the ones you mentioned. If the second verse was as good as the first this would be an unbelievable track. With the shitty second verse it's just an ok-good song.

Sia is awesome and the hook on this is amazing.

sucks a fat dick. Why does em insist on doing songs like this as of late. I think he stubbed his toe and it broke his heart.

Lel no, songs like Baby and Groundhog Day = miles better than this song.

I don't like to disagree with you, but rolly, do you know what he's talking about on baby ? :) aside from the great rhyming he says NOTHING on that track, absolutely nothing. BP is a great song.

I love the 'freakin'... deep end' shit... it's just a little flicker of variance in delivery which adds drama to the overall sound, and the song has grown on me a lot. Very well written and yeah his singing on that and also at the end of "Monster" is... and, not to sound phaggy, but, gorgeous.

We all know he's not a great singer in terms of singing for long periods and hitting a range of notes BUT, he does have a deft melodical ear and intuitively musical expression and when he uses his voice for softly high little melodic moments in songs in this way, it adds quite a lot.

Sometimes Em will sacrifice his delivery to fit more rhymes and sometimes, like in this case, he will sacrifice lyrics to fit the beat better.

I think he probably could of wrote some better parts for Beautiful Pain but ultimately I love the song.
