I don't think Em intended to hurt his mum's feelings in "My Mom". I guess he was trying to tell the world that now he experienced a heavy drug addiction, he understands what she's been through and what it's like. He's more cracking jokes about his mom than being angry and insulting her or trying to hurt her. He's as much criticizing himself as his mom in this song in my opinion

Plus look at Insane, some lines on My Mom are probably exaggerated, I mean it's Relapse after all

On the other hand, '97 Bonnie & Clyde was clearly made to evacuate his anger against Kim and hurt her.

Kim. Not sure how anybody can say his Mom after hearing the song Kim... which is pretty much everything and anything you could every do to someone in a song.

His Mom didn't try to commit suicide over it. Didn't dive into drugs over it. Though, I do believe that it was her own choice and she shouldn't make that an excuse, but it didn't help.

Also Kim had to deal with helping raising Haillie and trying to explain things to her and protect her.

Plus I think Em's Mom treated Em a lot worse than Kim, so she deserved more than Kim.

Kim didn't try to sue him. Kim didn't make a song about what a good wife she was.

She kept out of the public for many years, not saying shit until she had completely given up on Em

It's horrible and the fact that he performed it when she was there was really, really mean. Yeah, the songs is cinematic and kinda shows that he's a fucking genius etc etc and but it's still horrible imo.
