Wouldn't it kinda be SSEP-SSLP though? I know SSEP wasn't really an "album", but that's more of the transition than the infinite, because he completely changed as an artist.

Whoever voted SSLP-MMLP is an imbecile. One could even argue that he devolved as an artist by following the same formulaic album structure, rather than looking to make a new piece of art.

It may not be what we want."

I was going to put the SSEP in the poll, but i decided not to because alot of the material is on the SSLP.

:sweating: yea, i probably should have.

Infinite to SSLP: Never listened to Infinite in full so I can't rate it, but this is probably the correct answer either way.

SSLP: 8/10 (rounded up)
MMLP: 8.2/10

Improvement of 0.2

MMLP: 8.2/10
TES: 8.2/10

Improvement of 0

TES: 8.2/10
Encore: 4.7/10

Improvement of -3.5

Encore: 4.7/10
Relapse: 4.7/10

Improvement of 0

Relapse: 4.7/10
Recovery: 5/10

Improvement of 0.3

Recovery: 5/10
MMLP2: 6.4/10

Improvement of 1.4/10

Infinite - SSLP should probably win but of the albums I can rank, Recovery - MMLP2

MMLP 8.2/10 on an eminem fan forum. Never would've thought I would see that.

No one wrote him off after Recovery. Maybe after some of his questionable guest appearances following, but certainly not Recovery. It was, as he said in his own words "highly coveted."

It was his second spotlight. First was MMLP-TES where he was everywhere and you couldn't avoid him if you wanted to. Recovery was the same way because of its broad sound and commercial appeal.

i'm on about hiphop heads, who said he turned soft and full on pop, spitting corny punchlines and the like, it even marred his dark ep, BME. even i have criticized aspects of that period, which pained me coz, i'm a full on stan

Of course Recovery-MMLP2 would win :shakehead:

Anyway, anyone who voted TES-Encore is joking, that's his GOAT and WOAT album imo

I wouldn't vote Encore-Relapse because they're too apart and Em had to relearn to rap and write all over again after getting clean

I voted MMLP-TES. Don't get me wrong. I prefer the angry, spilling-his-guts-out Em than the layed-back, effortless-flow one, which was great, but artistcally speaking, the 2002 Em wins imo. His producer skills were at it's peak during that time too.

The biggest change imo is undoubtedly SSLP-MMLP, but I can't say it's was the biggest improve of his career since 99 Em is an amazing MC. He would destroy any instrumental that got handed over to him in that consistent pissing-people-off, spitting-the-most-retarded-shit flow

Eminem Show to Encore obviously.................

Anyways, on a serious note.

Infinite: 7/10
SSLP: 9/10
MMLP: 10/10
TES: 10/10
ENC: 6.5/10
REL: 7/10
REC: 7.5/10
MMLP2: 8/10

So I'm going with Infinite to Slim Shady LP, IMO

He went from a pretty good underground album, with some strong lyricism and not much else, to a fucking classic that changed hip hop.

No one wrote Eminem off after Recovery.....seriously??? If anything, in the real world and not online, more people enjoyed the transition to Recovery.

Hell the Sequel was the first Em release since Eminem Show or his 8 Mile work that got near universal respect from all corners of hip hop.

I think Encore to Relapse.

Recovery to MMLP2 was an improvement with puns, wordplay, flows and general writing... but there is still a ton of great rapping and writing on Recovery, and he was rhyming great still too.

Where as... Encore, jesus, some of the rhyming is embarrassing by his standa... anybody's standards, the only thing a lot of the time that saved the songs was his melodies.

But, to go from that to Relapse which is just so fucking PACKED and ZANY WITTY ZANY WITTY WITTY ZANY ZANY WITTY WITTY, WITTY, WITTY and ZANY... massive leap.

(srsly doh, INCREDIBLE rapping on Relapse and so, so much better than Encore).
