He's just been slowly ironing out creases in his music as he goes along. Got rid of the accent, but this problem was replaced with awful punchlines...so he toned these down too. But he never realizes these things suck as he's making the album...he needs fans on the internet to point it out. Which makes you think he doesn't really know what he's doing anymore.

He's just become better at pretending he knows what he's doing.

I agree with a lot of this.

:y:
Relapse and MMLP2 were great albums, though.

I honestly am in the very few minority cuz I think that Encore was just a bit better than Relapse and I thought Relapse was a lot better than Recovery but MMLP 2 beats the 3 albums I just mentioned by a long shot. Of course this is only my opinion...

Why do you find Encore better than Relapse? Just wondering.
There were so many weak songs on that album imo.

Well it's a very close call for me but I think it's cuz the well-written tracks on Encore I really really enjoy and I actually am not bothered that much by what people call the terrible songs off the album. Also another key factor is the fact that Encore really has an Eminem feel to the album whereas Relapse doesn't have that strong of an Eminem feel overall IMO.

I get what you mean. The "Eminem" feel on Encore is one of its pros to be. But most of the album is really poorly written and unbearable. Even the best songs on Encore didn't have great lyrics (from a technical standpoint). They aren't even close to the best on Relapse imo.

How do you feel about Deja Vu, SWA, SS&D, and Music Box? :flutter:

I actually like all the songs you just listed and feel they are some of the highlights on Relapse

Well, if you count The Re-Up and all the drug-era shit, he hasn't consistently improved since Encore. He got significantly worse at one point.

Relapse as an album IS an Eminem album to the very core. The themes, production, rapping styles. Despite the accents I see a lot of old Em in Relapse as well that is hard to decipher because of accents. Recovery is the only album of his that never actually FELT like an Eminem album sadly.

Yeah I know Relapse is way more of an a Eminem album than Recovery and Infinite. But there is something about Encore that I really dig.
