ehhh, it's a bit of everything. In 1998-2003 Eminem was incredible. All his songs were literally 9/10 or 10/10, save for a couple that sucked. The beats were epic, his delivery and flow were awesome, his rhyming and wordplay were insane and his humour was pretty awesome. Now it's like he can get some of those pretty good, but can't seem to get all of them on the same track. Some of his humour, especially on Recovery, just comes across as way too corny. He can still nail the funny shit...just listen to So Far..

I dunno, I feel like a lot of people don't like or hate new Eminem music simply because they compare his new work to his old work. He will never reach the MMLP and TES level again. He doesn't have it in him. But people need to set those expectations aside and listen to Em for what he is. MMLP2 was a good album. Recovery wasn't.

On a side note: it's unbelievable to think how many split second things altered Eminem's career. If Proof doesn't get shot..where are we now? If Eminem doesn't overdose and almost die, how would his career be different? Like man, we'll never know. But its crazy to think about.
