^ It's because he lied about his age in the beginning. So the public's perception of him is now younger than what he actually is. They tend to put him closer to Britney, Christina and Justin, early 30s, because he made fun of them and seemed to be closer in age. But he was a decade older than them, a 28 year old passing for 23.

I agree that he looks both young and old. His features are very boyish, but his face is very haggard. Tbh, he does look like one of those after pics for meth addicts, but hey, at least he's still alive and putting out music for us.
