I never put much thought into Get Lonely until I heard Woke Up New and In Corolla live. I liked the album, but I didn't listen to it much. The emotion John puts into the live performances is amazing. After I saw him perform those in person, I listened to the album again and connected with it. The music video directed by Rian Johnson is great. Have you seen his concert film, The Life of the World to Come? Pretty fascinating stuff. The only Mountain Goats LP I don't love is Heretic Pride, which is still a decent album that has gems like Lovecraft and Sax Rohmer.

1. Tallahassee
2. The Sunset Tree
3. All Hail West Texas
4. Sweden
5. The Life of the World to Come
6. The Coroner's Gambit
7. Transcendental Youth
8. We Shall All Be Healed
9. Zopilote Machine
10. Get Lonely
11. Full Force Galesburg
12. All Eternals Deck
13. Nothing for Juice
14. Heretic Pride

The only ones I've heard tbh are Tallahassee, The Sunset Tree, Get Lonely and Heretic Pride. I just think it's weird that Woke Up New is kind of a random songs on a random album but it's my favorite TMG song. The lyrics are so powerful

When the kite string pops by acid bath is great one of the hidden gems of 94, tbh. And for massive attack I recommend mezzanine if you like portishead they're worth listening too.
