Fucking people need to listen to shit like Hail Mary. Em and the crew used the SAME EXACT flows and rhyme schemes as Pac. You need to understand that it's not about trying to sound better than the original, but getting your own point across, while paying respect to a dope artist/piece of work. Loved Papoose's confidence.

That's done intentionally to pay homage though, not out of laziness :confusion:

Em / Papoose are intentionally mirroring the schemes, but with their own lyrics, to give you the feel of the original and pay homage...

If you come up with totally different schemes and flows over the same beat... that is not homage. That is just a completely different song over the same beat :confusion:

I think you're agreeing with me..

I was just saying that Em and 50 did a damn good job at mirroring Pac's original, although their attempt seemed much more genuine. Papoose's was great, but Em and Fif were nearly spot-on. I was agreeing with you, hope you got that out of my post.

Yeah, wasn't that great, but I was surprised how similar the actual rhymes were when I listened to them together for the first time. Didn't try to say that they were great, just a good example of mirroring.

... Why? That's what it is lmao.

Just a freestyle to the beat using the same flow/rhyme pattern (Which I dont think is bad when you freestyle over an official track). But I wouldn't see this as an homage you know?

but come to think of it....

It is an homage in a way hahaha :facepalm

Oh, word.

Yeah I think an homage, like... unless you mirror in some way... or like a direct quote... I don't think it's an homage.

I don't like Pap's music because his non freestyles are trash but he did a nice job on this. I just prefer to hear mixtape artists take the beat and make it their own song. That's why I like Chamillionaire's mixtapes so much.

I generally don't like mixtape rappers, though.
