I don't think it is an reference, it's more like a recurring theme in Em's mind about the end of his story and him getting a message across to his family members

When he's taking a shit in So Far and the fan bugs him...that's a reference to The Way I Am right? That's the first thing I thought when I heard that, which I thought was pretty cool.

Another easter egg: This one is part of the goat vocal acting Em brough to this album, but it has some deep meaning to it:

On Bad Guy, after the ''So 'fore you rest your case, better make sure you’re packing a wallop'' line, his voice loses intensity and it seems hoarse

This happens after Em contemplates the though of leaving the game because he has nothing else that's relevant to add to the table and he might not be as good as he once was

Then, he raps way more calmly about doing it for the last time, while he still can, before it's all over and the spotlight is no longer at him. He tries to go back and caprute he's old ''feel'', because the current Em is half way burnt and won't be able to keep doing it in the same level in a matter of time, in other words , it's his way of saying he's almost running out of energy and fuel.

About that, I read on Rap Genius about that line in Evil Twin. He says fuck top5, he's top4 and that includes Biggie and Pac. But... in Till I Collapse:

I think this one is even deeper than we think. For one, there's that obvious jab at Palin and the movie reference. But one of the actors from that movie is playing "marshall" in How I met your mother too. I think there was an episode about a girl named sarah and it had something to do with Marshall. I'm actually sure about that, can't remember though.
