The Anniversary (feat. Bobby Creekwater and Cashis) [TODAY!]

Postby Norway kills » Dec 5th, '13, 15:59

That's right: Today it's exacly 7 years since the classic mafia album Eminem Presents: The Re-Up dropped. Eminem, along with The Prince of Shady Records, Bobby Creekwater, and his right hand, Cashis, changed the game when they released this banger back in 2006. SHADY!

You know what's so special about the 7 year anniversary? 7 Years, 7 Shady Soldiers! Let's give them all a shout-out!

We were blessed to have an album that could potentially touch his three classics (Encore, Infinite, later Relapse). He was on such a roll creatively at the time; the wordplay was some of the best of his entire life.

And I can be so quiet and strike so fast
Like lightning bolts right out the sky go *blah
From outta nowhere, you might find your career
Come to an *err and I'm just like (Oh Yeah)

Such an excellent use of onomatopoeia. Marshall aside, I think Bobby and Cashis ripped this one. Apparently they call him Bobby Creekwater because he flows so smoothly. Rap God delivered.

It doesn't show the artistic growth enough for me though. Like, to me, when I listen to this album, I get a specific sound. Then No Apologies comes on and it kinda ruins it. It's like...it's kinda like he was stuck in the same mind frame of maybe 2002 or 2003. It just didn't show evolution as an artist for me.

We should be thankful that Em made tons of music for our eargasm! Even Wee-wee is better than any kanye/wayne's greatest hit.
