I definitely don't think "Asshole" or "Evil Twin" are / will be timeless.

I think "Rhyme or Reason", "Legacy" and "Rap God" in particular are though.

Brainless, Evil Twin, Rap God, Legacy, RoR, Bad Guy and So Far all feel like I'm going to be bumping them years from now.
Berzerk is my fave atm so that
too, it's prolly the most slept on song on MMLP2.
STIW is a guilty pleasure, I love Hailie's Song (it actually got me into Em) so that too.
...
I just listed 70% of the album, didn't I?
Anyway, the other songs have their moments where I'll be like "dis my shiiiit" and bump the shit outta them with the volume up (last verse of Asshole and Survival and occasionally, The Monster) but I have to be in that specific mood.
...
...
Album is looking classic brehs, shame Em's albums aren't properly appreciated on release and we gotta chill for 3 years 'till that shit'll be Illmatic.

I feel like he really struck gold with the new album.
It's a stroke of genius.

I've been bumping the album since it leaked and I'm still not sick of it...

I'm still listening to it, so I believe it'll be around for a while. No hits like Recovery hits and not the craziness of Relapse, but this is just the Eminem that we've been missing and I think that counts for a lot. And of course it's Eminem so he'll still be selling this album well into 2014 unlike other albums this year.

I'll play this for years to come just like all his other albums probably 4th on my list after mmlp, tes and sslp He was bk on form on this project so many nostalgic moments for me. Encore, relapse n recovery battling out bottom tier of my list cant decide all of them have gems on em i still stick em on every now and then what can I say I'm a pure Stan to the core

shadyVA wrote:I think it will have decent longevity. Meaning, some songs will be forgotten, while others will stand the test of time. I think Bad Guy and Headlights will be the only two songs that have longevity for everyone. From there, it will depend on personal preferences. I feel, unfortunately, like nothing he ever puts out again will have the longevity of sing for the moment, lose yourself, the way I am, and some others. I can put those songs on anytime and they feel brand new. Honestly, I'm already tired of some of these songs. Its surely from overplaying them so once I give it a break I'll like them again but the MMLP2 isn't immune to the overplay factor.

If he would put out songs like other artists instead of disappearing for years at a time, I think it could help longevity. We wouldn't be so limited and if we got occasional singles, we would overplay them for a few weeks and that would give us a break from the album. I don't think 2-3 singles each non album year would be too much to ask. Hell, just use a throw away from MMLP2...we're stans! We don't care! Being an Em fan is exhausting lol. But hopefully calm down drops in January and they don't screw us by not releasing it.

I think that some songs definitely will fade out, but I think that Bad Guy, Headlights, Rhyme or Reason, Rap God, and Evil Twin will definitely have the replay value and the timeless appeal of some of his earlier songs.

Bad Guy: Sequel to Stan, awesome idea, GOAT 4th verse, really not too much more to say

Headlights: like Cleanin' out my Closet, it's a very personal song which coupled with its good execution will make it timeless

Rhyme or Reason: I honestly think that no song he's ever made (or anyone's ever made) sounds like this. Also one of the very few songs in which he talks about his dad

Evil Twin: Enough awesome lines and rhymes for an entire album. But really it's his assertions and some of the sonic features of the song that will keep posterity listening. Or maybe I'm just stanning too hard over this song

Rap God: the name, the flow, the wordplay, it's definitely a song that will be remembered.

@Embase: you're right I should remove Asshole...

The versatility is why I loved both Recovery and this album. There's so much there sonically, substance wise, flow wise. I mean this is something that should please all Eminem fans on SOME level. There is something here for everybody.

Motivational? Legacy
Emotional? Headlights
Classic Shady storytelling? Brainless
Songs that are just overall fun to listen to? Rhyme Or Reason, So Far
Songs about relationships? Stronger Than I Was, So Much Better
Songs where he's just going off lyrically? Take your pick

There's elements from all his previous albums on this in terms of style, content, flow, even production. Beats like Baby and Brainless bring me back to prime Eminem.

There is redeeming stuff on here for every fan, no matter what Eminem you prefer.
