Because the song is probably not about a real girl (Kim or otherwise). Therefore it's sort of a cool idea to have a fictional date as a fictional anniversary.

Just a creative decision on Em's part, I'd say.

Because I believe this song isn't even about a real relationship. It's made up. He obviously drew inspiration from a real relationship but the song is just meant to break up the action after the lyrical onslaught of tracks 1-10.

People just throw the Kim label on any song he does about a damaged relationship because it's the only one we know about. That or because a lot of people are seeking more Kim bashing.

I think it's designed to be a complete opposite to 'Kim', but whether it's from her perspective, or if it's even about that specific relationship is debatable, because there are things like the fictional Nov 31st which make it intentionally ambiguous.

Who the words are coming from isn't important, but it's thematically the opposite to his attitude at that point, (singing as opposed to screaming), which I think was more the intention than "this is 'Kim' from Kim's perspective."
