Rap God as a Lead Single

Postby Hopsinshadie » Dec 17th, '13, 00:13

How hyped would you have been for MMLP2 if Rap God was the first single?

Yeah but how could he follow that hype up?
I think it was released at the perfect time, people were expecting some recovery ish off his first two singles, then he dropped the bomb on em.. perfect timing imo

This.

Berzerk was the best choice to release first. If he released Rap God first, Berzerk would have came off as a disappointment.. Well, not neccesarily disappointment but it wouldn't have any impact. Rap God just a week or a few weeks before the release was monstrous.

I know. But I'm not talking about the follow ups. I'm just talking about how hyped you would be in that particular moment. I would instantly think it would be like the original MMLP if Rap God was the single.

It would have been cool but like what's been said earlier, what he did was perfect. There was Berzerk which either people loved or hated and Survival which was received decently but had people worried all the same. And then he drops Rap God, which everyone ends up loving, just before release to shut the haters up. What he did was genius.
