Still 9+ albums. I do like every song on SSLP and TES, meanwhile in MMLP2 I don't like Survival/Stronger than I was that much, nor Asshole's beat. I hope you get my point.

Classics stand the test of time, we'll see how this does in the future. As for now, I'd like to make an analogy in reference to the OP's claim that this is Eminem's prime. In the NFL world, Peyton Manning's prime was considered between 2004-2009, and then in 2010 he had four neck surgeries that compromised his NFL career and forced his exit from the Colts. Now three years later playing for the Broncos, Peyton Manning is putting up numbers very similar to his prime years. So do call this his prime? No not really. He's obviously not as good as thrower, he throws lame ducks all over the place, but still wins. When it comes to Eminem, his real prime is '99-'03, and no this is not his prime. He's obviously not the guy he used to be, but like Peyton Manning, he's smart and realized what he cannot do anymore, and found a way around it. This is a different prime in a legend's career, and it might come close but it won't ever match the true prime. The same way Peyton is not throwing a 60 yard deep route for a TD is the same reason Eminem won't make a song like Cleaning out my Closet. Instead they realize they can't do that anymore, either physically (peyton) or mentally (eminem) so they found ways around it. Reading a defense and throwing a 20 yard route that goes for a TD or in Eminem's case writing "Headlights." At the end of the days, legends cannot be at their best forever, and when they get close to it again, just please for the love of god; enjoy it and don't compare it to the past work.
Great read.

-I don't follow football, and I don't know what "numbers" represent in the analogy but I think, and I've said so ad nausem, that Bad Guy is as brilliant as Stan, that Rap God is every bit as good as TWIA, Rhyme or Reason as entertaining as Square Dance etc. Thus "prime".
- I don't know how making a thread that declares MMLP2 a classic, in any way implies that I didn't enjoy it 'cos I was too busy comparing it to his past work.
But hey, what do I know?

There's an handful of tracks on this album that sit comfortably amongst his best work imho..
Brainless has classic Em written all over it..

There's a bunch of tracks period since coming back which do I think.
A bunch on Relapse, some of Recovery, the best of MMLP2...
He hasn't created an album to match, but the standard has been there.
