Eminem and Bias of the Gay Culture

Why does our culture tend to single out particular people to criticize mercilessly and sabotage their careers? Why is a “standard” applied to some but not others? I have two quotes. The first is from Phil Robertson, recently cited thousands of times:

Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine…Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.

and here’s one by famous rapper Eminem from a newer song, Rap God:

Now, which one is more offensive to you? One places homosexuality among sins, the other demonizes it using violence. One stems from beliefs rooted in the Christian morals upon which the country was founded, the other from a hatred of those whose persuasions are other than straight. One is a simple expression of an opinion using the American right to free speech, the other is, to be quite honest, brutal.

So what’s going on here then? Was there ever an uproar of this scale about Eminem’s song? Nope. Why not? Because lately it doesn’t have so much to do with opinions as much as their source. It’s not politically correct to be Christian and Conservative and allow that to influence your views on homosexuality and the LGBTQ movement, hence Phil Robertson is the devil himself. But if your beliefs don’t stem from that, it’s ok, right? Huh. Makes sense.

It is clear that the standard here is in no way stemming from principles but rather, the arbitrary dictates of those determining popular thought. People need to make up their minds to whom this sort of tolerance they are preaching applies, and to whom it does not.

It didn't rattle chains THAT badly because its just music lol. Even though music itself has been delicining, I will say that at least its becoming more accepting and able to separate reality from fiction. Eminem was only being Eminem because that's what the fans wanted. Eminem was FAR harsher to women on this album and no one bats an eye, on the very same song where he breaks faggot's backs he also batters women for the sake of making a cake. I believe deep down Eminem doesn't hate gays one bit and hates women far worse than he'll ever hate a gay guy. He says all he says for publicity and reaction and that's exactly what they give him. Every. Single. Time.
