I hate those eye contacts, wow.

Is that Yela on the background? hahaha

People are too Old Em biased nowadays. We should judge MMLP2 on a different way and see it from a different perspective, I think. Comparing his old work with it won't be a pleasant experience.

Always got respect for Hopsin, he's a cool down-to-earth dude. Yeah his old Em bias is kind of annoying, but the dude shows so much respect and humility.

I don't like this interviewer he's an example of someone who came into this album with not only impossibly high expectations, but also wrong interpretations of what Em meant by calling this album the "MMLP2". He kept the underlying themes and topics from the first one and then tackled these same themes as a 40-year-old man, showing not only his perspectives on things now that he's older and more mature, but his growth as well from that pissed-off, confrontational rapper in his mid-20s from the first one.

People came in expecting Em to attack anyone and everyone and just rap about murder and really intense shit. That kind of sequel making is what we call The Hangover Part II, just literally repeating yourself and consequently losing the freshness that made the original good. Then there's the Godfather Part II's and the Empire Strikes Back's, where they build upon what was created in the first one, rather than just try and re-create it.

That's why Em most definitely succeeded with this sequel, and it's such a damn shame there's so many ignorant fools who fail to see that.

Sorry, i'm high. End rant.

I respect his opinion but couldn't he just talk about MMLP2 without bothering to talk about Em's older stuff...

Pick one.

horsebot, his point still remains and is hugely valid. Eminem was smart enough not to make and album where he raps about intense shit and attacks everyone again - that isn't a sequel; that is a form of emulation which shows a lack of creativity in the artist. This is probably why he also did not do a Relapse 2. Objectively speaking, the MMLP2 is an incredible album due to the elite level at which Eminem is rapping, the context (and time period) in which the album was released, and the fact that Eminem is now over 18 years into the game, 15 of those showing massive commercial success. One does not simply create the MMLP2 at this point in their career and don't tell me that Nas did it with Life is Good. Life is Good was dope but did not come close to eclipsing the sheer level of skill and versatility with concepts, production, and stylistics exhibited on MMLP2. This is why the MMLP2 was, easily, the top rap album of the year. Run the Jewels is up there as well (it is probably the most well-produced album of the year imo).

^True that.

Fools don't enjoy the music, they keep thinking if its good or bad and keep comparing it with his old stuff and finally conclude that new Eminem is shit without understanding the level on which he is. so fuck y'all.
