I still don't get why people go so hard on Berzerk's lyrics.. You knew what you were getting after the first verse.. you actually expected a serious bar'd out rappity rap song?

Berzerk is a better overall song and perfect single. Sonically it is amazing.
Evil Twin is a good rappity rap song.. It's not a better song in general and definitely isn't catchy, it's just dope. For a single you want something that gets stuck in your head.

And, considering the context in which Syllables was released and what the content is.. who cares if Jay had the better verse? That's like Obie having the better verse on Drips.

Berzerk has more of that catchy and light and breezy feel to it. Whereas Evil Twin is like an intense, heavy rap song that leaves you standing back in awe. A lot of passion and genius flowing through Evil Twin. Berzerk was the right choice imo.

Em was practically at the peak of his overdosing and state of being drugged out in 2007 when Syllables was recorded. Em almost died Christmas of 2007 so anything recorded that year should be excused because Em could only put out crappy quality work then.
