No he nearly undid all the hard work of paving by Beastie Boys and a few others.

Em didn't get a look in from some labels because they said ''nope, white rappers don't work'' after Vanilla Ice lmao. He didn't pave the way for nobody, he permanently shat on the road.

Em cleaned it up, shit out gold and truly paved the way; Macklemore, Asher Roth, Mac Miller etc. - not saying they wouldn't be successful, but they would have had to work 10x as hard for respect and probably wouldn't get as easy a pass in hip-hop considering they're hardly lyrical geniuses, any of them.

Where as after Em... saying 'white guys can''t rap'' became forever invalid.

Good points... just that he actually undid it all the way. Meaning like his fuck up was bad enough not to only ruin his own thing & to negatively reflect on the white rappers coming after him but it actually hit at The Beasties legacy too.

Um, kind of, but ultimately it was Eminem who did this much much more. No one ever says they were influenced by Vanilla Ice, LOL, they say Em influenced them. Em brought down racial barriers in the hip hop community, Em brought over so many white fans to hip hop (it's true, don't lie), and Em still continues to do large numbers.

Vanilla Ice only made white people looks corny and embarrassing. He was successful at one point in his career, and was never respected in hip hop like Eminem is. He came before Em, yeah, but no one still gave a shit about a white rapper lmao. It was only until Eminem that white rappers got more confident then we started seeing a bunch of them. Now look.

This was't Vanilla Ice's doing, no matter how much he believes it.

He actually did the opposite, he regressed the progress of white rappers. He fulfilled the stereotype that white rappers were not 'real' or to be taken seriously.
And everything's spinning
You're beginin' to think women
are swimming in pink linen again in the sink
Then in a couple of minutes that bottle of Guinness is finished

^ Haha I wish Eminem would make a diss track aimed at a bunch of white rappers like Vanilla Ice and maybe even Macklemore and others. You know, just to put them in their place.

Em's bitch slapped him with lines here & there & I think he shouldn't go further than that 'cuz he's definitely not worth it.

It's so lame Vanilla Ice acts like he doesn't know his own failure & tries to hide that embarrassment after his crazy but very short success...
Pretty much whenever a rapper had to say something bad for another rapper was always Vanilla for like 10-15 good years... he was a walking punch line right there.
