Why is Ketchup so Terrible?

Ketchup is good on certain foods.

I'd imagine if I had to eat sand or dirt, ketchup may make it more pleasurable. But why ruin real food with such a disgusting sauce?

I only like a little with fries, hot dogs, and hamburgers but that's about it. But even with hot dogs and hamburgers I usually like mustard, mayo, and relish more.
