I disagree, MMLP2 is more cohesive than you seem to believe.
I agree that it lacks the uniform "voice" that the MMLP has but that, I think, was intentional.
MM2 feels like a story, from Bad Guy to Asshole to Berzerk to So Far and Evil Twin. It seems like Em finally perfected the transitioning that you seem to hate so much in Relapse, moving from voice to voice, sometimes even literally. SSLP Em was present, so was MMLP Em, and Recovery Em along with Relapse Em.
MM2 is a representation of Em's career, it's blend of every era and the CD ends with a sort of mission statement as to what to expect from future Em releases in Evil Twin.
It's a brilliant, criminally underrated album.
I used to think the deluxe tracks could have replaced some of the album songs but not anymore, they fit perfectly.
