why do you guys have such a problem with random vocal sounds? even when they're not part of the verse?

Because it's fucking gibberish that has no point other than to rhyme. The sumalummadummalumma part was Em imitating JJ Fad, just like he is for the rest of the supersonic part.

And Lance's example is just tech carrying over the hook of the song with more tribal sounds, leading to his verse. It's just a bridge, as opposed to leaving the area blank. Tech fills in absolutely every blank spot of every verse, whether it be with a cha or a growl, he makes sure his voice is covering his entire section. And it's nothing new for him to set up a long ass rhyme with gibberish sounds: http://youtu.be/D9yvX4cuUmg?t=29s

edit: and have you ever actually listened to the verse? it fits just fine.

edit 2: and why do I end up having to explain this specific verse in nearly every thread I'm involved in? it's getting silly at this point

I'm pretty sure it's part of the verse :confusion: And just because he does the weird noises all the time doesn't mean it's a good thing :sweating:

I have actually listened to the verse, and the rhyming on it is incredibly forced. His flow and delivery, of course, are spot on (as always), but the verse is so cringe-y.

I jump on a bitch, pump on a chick, crunch 'n munch on a clit, dunk on a dick
Somethin' sunk in it quick, krumpin' a bit, humpin' the nina, bring the thunder
I be the king of kung, up in your spleen, the weiners on you
I -- eat it up like sufamunda, cheese between lasagna
I -- skeet it up, 'n giddy up, fiend for cream, va-geena tongue

Does Tech even english

I actually enjoy how it sounds haha, it's in my top 10 - 20 tech verses for that reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

anyway i feel ya, it's a strange verse when put under a microscope, but a lot of techs work is like that. regardless, I still don't understand how yet another thread has turned into a tech discussion

Yeah, we're going a bit off-topic :sweating:

Don't get me wrong, I love Tech, but a lot of his verses are kind of weird when you look at them on paper.

Back on-topic: For someone who failed grade 9 three times before dropping out, I'd say Em's grammar is actually not that bad.

Yes, but this is interesting for non-native speakers. That's why I asked it.

"between you and I" in Superman is incorrect, even though tons of people make that mistake. And he obviously only structured it that way because of the rhyme scheme.

So is "it's you and I" in Brain Damage, which is again structured that way to fit the rhyme scheme, and it's also a childhood bully who is saying it, which makes it fit perfectly.

Some of it's for the sake of syllable count/rhyming scheme, and the other part if just being ignorant of it.

He may say something wrong in casual conversation, but it's clear that when he's writing lyrics, the rhyme is what he's thinking about, not the grammar.

"how fucked up is you?" He would never say that outside of his lyrics.
