Alright...I don't think the beats are very poppy, just sub-par compared to what he has access to. The hooks, uhh...yeah a bit, some are kinda weak but "The Monster" has a hook that just MEANT for radio, something I can't really say for the hooks on Recovery. I also think his bad punch lines don't imply pop, lol.

To each their own, honestly. But I think sometimes Recovery is shit on for reasons people don't even justify or even remember anymore.

True. One of these days I'm gonna listen through all his solo albums from Infinite to MMLP 2 and fairly judge them all. Oh and also, a lot of it is just a matter of taste because objectively Recovery is a better album than Encore. Subjectively, I like Encore more personally.

That's not watered down at all.

I always question whether someone actually listened to the album when they say that, or even know what the term "watered down" even means. Even on the "love songs" he's killing himself and the woman. That's not watered down.

Shit, the first lyric on the album is "you can get the dick".

Ok in hindsight Recovery isn't watered down like I thought it was.

I also am guilty of bashing Recovery a bit too much in recent months - mainly because I think it pales in comparison with MMLP2 - but I'm going to sit and listen to it in full one night this week cause I'm almost certain it's going to be much better than I ever give it credit for, I tend to focus on the weak points the Album has when really there is a shed load of truly classy shit on there as well. It's the thought of the somewhat lacklustre production that puts me off listening to many of the songs...doubt it'll be as bad as I remember tho
Q. What did Eminem say to 50 when he caught him wearing a sweater?

I'm beginning to think that the low points of Encore are worse than the low points of Relapse and Recovery yet the high points of Encore are better than the high points of Relapse and Recovery.

For me Like Toy Soldiers, Yellow Brick Road & Mockingbird > Anything from Recovery.
Not sure about Relapse as I like just about every song on that album although I wouldn't call many classics.
