So I was listening to some MMLP2 and checking out some of the lyrics on rapgenius when I read a lyric explanation that actually isn't a total reach or insanely stupid.
These lines from the third verse of Desperation;
"Games behind your frame of mind ain't the same as mine
I think you need to finish developing a little more mentally too"
Get the picture
That's a negative, Alicia, I will never give the keys up"
feature word play across a couple of lines "Frame/Developing/Picture/Negative", which I think is pretty cool. Not only are the lines pretty good but it's very subtle and you would never notice it on first listen (or in my case and I'm sure a lot of others, repeated listens). There's something about this that I admire way more than mentioning something and having word play on it at the end of the line and then that's it (Like the succeeding Alicia Keys thing). That's too simple.
Glad to see Eminem really went to the greater lengths of his brain to do stuff like this because I'm pretty positive he does it several times on the album, but this is just a good example of what I'm talking about.
Is there any more instances like this from MMLP2 that you can think of or that you enjoy/think is good?
