I still love COMC. It does put it in a different perspective but I don't skip it 'cause now it's "past" 'cause he apologized for that song.

Em did go bit too far with that Mom shit, to be honest.
even if my mother would have done that type of shit, i would've still love her & respect her, no doubt of it.

When I listen to Headlights again, it sounds less and less like a genuine apology. He makes sure to mention that he did it "rightfully," he makes sure to mention that she was "sick, and it wasn't fixable," and he says, "I forgive you," even though she never asked for his forgiveness. She has never admitted to being in the wrong, as far as I know.
