No way. Who do you think is paying for millions and millions of dollars of Em's promotion? He would still be big of course, but a big part of the reason he's always a media monstrosity is because they back him with more money that the GDP of couple small countries

I genuinely think he likes that song. Would angry, defiant, 20 year old bipolar Em like that song? Maybe not. But I'm sure he listens to that song and is proud of it. Does Interscope want big hits? Of course, but I also think he is very aware of the fact that he has an enormous fanbase to appeal to, and even though hardcore Stans would never admit it, maybe he actually likes trying to make music for all of his fans. I think as long as he doesn't feel like he is compromising the quality of his rapping, he welcomes making different kinds of music. MMLP2 is a fantastic example of him making high quality music for all kinds of tastes. I think The Monster would still exist. Maybe there would be a different singer, maybe not. Maybe it would sound a little different, maybe not. All of his fans got him to where he is at, so he makes music for all of his fans. So what?

From his perspective, he might be thinking: "I gave you Rap God, I gave you Bad Guy, Brainless, Evil Twin, Baby, Groundhog Day...etc...and you call me a sell out because I gave the other fans like 3 songs???" We need to stop looking at him like a puppet pushover and consider the fact that maybe he likes making music that everybody loves. Stans like to think they are Em's collective conscience and assume that if we don't like it, then he must secretly hate it too. Most of the album is for core fans, a couple are for the rest. That doesn't make him a pushover, that makes him a guy that loves all of his fans.

I agree with you, and I believe that's how Em sees this thing. But still I don't understand why he doesn't perform the less famous songs for the core fans.
