That's usually what is implied. Since it's his best album, if it's deemed "not MMLP-ish" it implies some type of shortcoming. For example, even in all of it's successes, Rap God is not MMLP material and therefore flawed in some way ("because MMLP Em wouldn't say the 'batter the women' line", therefore the other 99% is taken down a notch from the golden standard). Said or unsaid, it's a very obvious connotation.

Not at all, the songs are completely different styles. Sonically and lyrically they are quite different. MBDTF, gkmc, The Blueprint and Illmatic aren't very MMLP-ish (even less so than Rap God), but they're still classics (and still better than Rap God).
