MMLP2 Vs Recovery

Postby Jaba » Apr 1st, '14, 00:00

First off, we all know MMLP2 is better. BUT. I recently did a challenge to see and well.... I don't think there is ONE Recovery song better than any of the MMLP2 songs. Anyone else agree?

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

It's all opinions...
"There's darkness closing in, here it comes again
It controls my pen, that ain't me, it's my evil twin
(I step out and see my evil twin, he gives me an evil grin)
He's just a friend who pops up now and again
So don't blame me, blame him, my evil twin
(I step out and see my evil twin, he gives me an evil grin)"

Definitely not, there's plently of Recovery songs better than Monster and Stronger Than I Was. I'm sure you weren't really serious about that.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

I'd take gtc,on fire, cinderella man and Almost famous over Survival any day.
i don't dislike survival but it's just not the greatest on an album that has songs like legacy, rap god, brainless and rhyme or reason on it.
I like asshole though (The song, don't make a joke with that previous line) I got used to the beat because the verses are just too great to ignore

I think 25 To Life, Almost Famous, Going Through Changes and No Love are better than Stronger Than I Was, Asshole, The Monster and Survival. There are quite a few on Recovery better than Survival.

I do agree that MMLP2 is a better album overall, though.

People are going to say MMLP2 by far...and I'd agree...but I just don't know. Besides Rap God, Brainless, Evil Twin, and Bad Guy, nothing is really on repeat for me from MMLP2. I think it is a much more genuine, but not necessarily that much better. Recovery is fun to listen to. It's basically background party music and if you don't pay too much attention to the stupid fucking puns on Recovery, it's great for what it is. An album mostly about being dope as fuck, and somewhat about his struggles with drugs and life. Seduction is a top 20 Em song IMO. Shit's so raw. WTP gets me hyped, also. When you look at it all, MMLP2 is much better in technical aspect and basically everything else, but I just don't get that dope feeling when I listen to any of the songs. If any of that makes sense. If not, then, fuck me I guess.

fuck you i guess.

Nah, I get you, Recovery is a lot more hype type tracks, Damn that fucking Cinderella man beat is huge with the drum part. It's kinda like an album full of till i collapse's but with more puns and punchlines, some are good though like the David carridine line (i think that's how you spell his last name).

You don't think "Almost Famous" is better than "The Monster"?

Also:

"Cold Wind Blows" > "Asshole"

"Space Bound" > "Stronger Than I Was" x 100

"Cinderella Man" > "Evil Twin"

But yeah for the most part - Em's rapping and MMLP2 beats are other worldly better.

But Recovery has more of an actual committed sound and some songs are better than MMLP2's weak ones.

I will always argue that some of the bonus tracks on mmlp2 should have been on the album, but i talk only of the mmlp2 and not the bonus tracks.

Recovery was great for what it was. It had some awesome songs, but yes the yelling at times was overdone and the attempt at wordplay, metaphors and puns or whatever he did on there most of the time i would argue is so much worse than what was on mmlp2. The mmlp2 was almost flawless imo on his wordplay, metaphors etc. He didnt have but maybe a couple "corny" ones.

As for songs that always stand out on recovery, on fire, almost famous and his verse on no love i thoroughly enjoyed. But all i can say is mmlp2 has been the cd i have listened to since it came out. Not every song i love and there are no songs i hate, but songs like bad guy, ROR, rap god, love game, brainless, headlights, evil twin and berzerk i think are great songs. many others i think are solid but i dont want to listen to as much, and only really so much better to me is mehh (even though i think its a great song, it just doesnt seem to fit. if it were a bonus song i think i'd of enjoyed it more).

overall to me mmlp2 is miles ahead of recovery and recovery was dope at times. all my opinion so take it for what it is.

Sorry bruh. Opinions and shit. Actually, maybe I'm exaggerating. I could name probably 20-30 songs better than Seduction. But that shit gets me so hyped for some reason. Just the whole "I got your girl. And the rap game. Sorry, bitch" thing is what I love. He spits with so much confidence in that song; "I'm in every single slot, and you're not, awww". I love that. Idk why.

Also, I've always wanted to ask about Seduction but didn't want to seem stupid, but who is it about? I've seen a lot of you guys saying it's insane to think it's about Wayne or Jay, but it's obviously aimed at someone.
